THE COMPANY Our client is a leading international logistics and transportation business operating at global scale. Backed by a major multinational group, they are investing heavily in modernising their technology and data capabilities, transitioning from legacy systems to a cloud-native data platform. This role offers the chance to lead that transformation while building a sustainable in-house engineering capability.
THE ROLE Lead, mentor and develop a team of 8-10 Data Engineers across onshore and offshore locationsDefine and deliver the data engineering strategy, roadmap and best practicesDrive the migration from legacy on-premise technology to a modern AWS and Snowflake data platformBuild internal capability and reduce reliance on external contractorsPartner closely with Architecture, Analytics and senior business stakeholdersOversee platform reliability, support processes and engineering standardsProvide technical leadership across data platform and engineering initiatives YOUR SKILLS AND EXPERIENCE Strong background in Data Engineering with previous people leadership experienceExperience managing engineering teams of roughly 8-10 individualsStrong knowledge of Python, SQL, ETL/ELT pipelines and data warehousing conceptsExperience working with cloud platforms, ideally AWS and SnowflakeGood understanding of data modelling and modern data architecture principlesExperience delivering cloud transformation or platform modernisation programmesStrong stakeholder management and communication skillsComfortable leading teams through organisational change and growth SALARY AND BENEFITS Bonus of up to 40%8% employer pension contribution26 days holiday plus bank holidaysOption to purchase up to 5 additional holiday daysLife assurance and personal accident coverFree on-site gym accessOpportunity to work overseas for up to one month per yearHybrid working model (3 days per week in office) HOW TO APPLY Please register your interest by sending your CV to Harry Lack through the 'Apply' link.
