Junior Gardener, Private Estate, Surrey, Up to £35k gpa plus accommodation
Silver & Bow are looking for a Junior Gardener to join the garden team at a beautiful privately owned estate in Surrey.
The property is fully staffed, with a Head Gardener and gardening team alongside chefs, housekeepers, facilities, drivers, security and other household staff. The family use the estate throughout the year, including for large events and entertaining.
This is an excellent opportunity to work on exceptional grounds in a high-end private setting, developing your skills alongside an experienced team. The role would suit someone with a genuine passion for gardening and the outdoors, a strong work ethic and a keen eye for detail.
Duties:
Supporting the Head Gardener with the day-to-day care of the grounds
Mowing, edging, weeding and general upkeep of lawns, borders and hedges
Planting, pruning and seasonal maintenance
Watering, feeding and caring for plants
Keeping paths, terraces, water features and outdoor areas immaculately presented
Helping to prepare the grounds for the family’s visits and for entertaining
Looking after tools and machinery, and keeping work areas clean and tidy
Maintaining discretion and a professional approach at all times
Requirements:
Experience working in a similar role
Confident using garden machinery, such as mowers, strimmers and hedge cutters
Happy working outdoors in all weathers, and physically fit
A keen interest in working on a private estate
Proactive, reliable and a good team player
Should live locally to the property or be happy to live in
Full UK driving licence
Excellent, checkable references
Horticultural qualifications (e.g. RHS) are a bonus
Hours: 40 hours per week across 5 days
Package: Up to £35k GPA, staff accommodation provided close to the main estate
