Are you a creative and enthusiastic Art Teacher looking for an exciting new opportunity in a supportive secondary school?
We are working with a secondary school in Redbridge that is looking for a passionate and dedicated Art Teacher to join their team on a full-time basis to cover a maternity leave, starting towards the end of November or December 2026.
This is an excellent opportunity for an experienced teacher or an enthusiastic ECT who is passionate about Art and enjoys inspiring young people to develop their creativity, confidence and artistic skills.
The successful candidate will be responsible for delivering engaging and creative Art lessons across Key Stages 3 and 4, encouraging students to explore different artistic techniques and achieve their full potential.
The Role
Teaching Art to students across Key Stages 3 and 4Planning and delivering creative, engaging and well-structured lessonsEncouraging students to develop their artistic skills, imagination and confidenceTeaching a range of artistic techniques, materials and creative processesPreparing students for GCSE Art and Design assessments and courseworkAssessing, monitoring and recording student progressCreating a positive, inclusive and inspiring classroom environmentManaging classroom behaviour effectively and promoting high expectationsWorking collaboratively with the Art department and wider teaching teamContributing to the wider school community and supporting students' creative development The Ideal Candidate
Qualified Teacher Status (QTS) or equivalent recognised teaching qualificationExperience teaching Art at secondary level, particularly KS3 and KS4A strong understanding of the Art curriculum and GCSE requirementsCreative, enthusiastic and passionate about teaching ArtExcellent classroom management and communication skillsAbility to plan engaging lessons that inspire and motivate studentsConfident assessing student progress and providing constructive feedbackA positive, flexible and proactive approach to teachingExperienced teachers and ECTs are welcome to apply Why Apply?
