Disability Assessor - WCA – Nurse, Physio, OT
Salary: £42,985 Hours: Monday – Friday (9am – 5pm) Location: Hastings
Role Summary:
The Disability Assessor conducts Work Capability Assessments (WCA) with individuals with long-term health conditions or disabilities. The role requires producing comprehensive, evidence-based reports for the Department of Work and Pensions (DWP). The assessor is not responsible for benefit entitlement decisions.
Key Responsibilities: Conduct telephone, video, or face-to-face assessments with claimants, Perform thorough evaluations to determine how a claimant’s disability or health condition affects their work capabilities.Assess individuals with a range of physical, mental health, cognitive, and sensory impairments.Produce impartial, accurate, and high-quality written reports using a designated IT system.Maintain up-to-date knowledge of relevant policies, procedures, and assessment criteria.Adhere to all professional standards, including Safeguarding, Equality, Diversity and Inclusion, Data Protection, and Risk Management. Essential Criteria: Registered healthcare professional (NMC/HCPC registration required).Minimum of one years’ relevant post-registration clinical experience.Strong written and verbal clinical communication skills.Ability to work independently and manage a clinical caseload efficiently.Experience working with complex health conditions Salary Benefits £42,985 starting salaryAnnual salary reviewsMixture of office and home workingNo more weekends!!
