Are you an enthusiastic and dedicated Teaching Assistant looking for a new opportunity in a supportive secondary school?
We are working with a secondary school in Waltham Forest that is looking for a confident, reliable and experienced General Teaching Assistant to join their team on a full-time basis from November 2026.
This is an excellent opportunity for someone who has a minimum of one year's experience working as a Teaching Assistant and enjoys supporting young people in the classroom, helping students develop their confidence and achieve their full potential.
The successful candidate will work closely with teaching staff to provide general classroom support, helping students remain engaged, motivated and focused on their learning.
The Role
Providing general classroom support across a range of subjects at secondary levelSupporting teachers with the delivery of engaging and effective lessonsWorking with individual students and small groups who require additional supportHelping students stay focused, engaged and motivated during lessonsSupporting students with varying abilities and learning needsAssisting with classroom management and promoting positive behaviourHelping to prepare classroom resources and learning materialsEncouraging students to develop confidence, independence and positive learning habitsWorking closely with teaching staff, pastoral teams and the SEN departmentHelping to create a positive, inclusive and supportive learning environment The Ideal Candidate
A minimum of 1 year's experience working as a Teaching Assistant is essentialPrevious experience supporting students within a secondary school is highly desirableConfident supporting students across a range of subjectsGood understanding of classroom routines, behaviour management and safeguardingExcellent communication and interpersonal skillsCalm, patient, approachable and reliableAble to build positive relationships with students and staffConfident working both independently and as part of a teamFlexible, proactive and willing to support wherever neededPassionate about helping young people succeed in education Why Apply?
