Greencross Vets Williamstown is seeking an experienced Certificate IV Veterinary Nurse to join our team on a part-time basis, with hours open to discussion for the right candidate.
This opportunity is ideal for a nurse who enjoys working closely with both clients and veterinarians, thrives in a consult-focused environment, and is passionate about delivering exceptional patient care through communication, education, and relationship-building.
While you'll still utilise your nursing skills, this role is less focused on surgical nursing and more centred around nurse consulting, client care, patient advocacy, and supporting veterinarians throughout the consultation process.
We're looking for someone who genuinely enjoys connecting with people, creating positive client experiences, and helping pets and their families receive the very best care.

Developed in collaboration with two of Australia's leading veterinary behavioural medicine specialists, Dr Kersti Seksel and Dr Jacqui Ley, the program reinforces our commitment to fear-free, patient-centred care and supports proactive strategies that improve the wellbeing of both pets and the people who care for them.

About the Role
This is a part-time position with flexibility around hours and days for the right candidate.
We're particularly interested in candidates who enjoy the client-facing side of veterinary nursing and are passionate about supporting a team-based consulting model.
Your responsibilities will include:
Supporting veterinarians during consultations and patient workupsUndertaking nurse consultations and preventative healthcare discussionsBuilding strong relationships with clients and providing ongoing support and educationAssisting with treatment plans and patient follow-up careSupporting medical nursing and patient careHandling client enquiries in person, via email, and over the phoneScheduling appointments and coordinating patient careAdmitting and discharging patientsManaging client accounts and administrative tasksActing as an advocate for both patients and clients throughout their clinic journeySupporting reception and front-of-house operations as requiredThis role is perfect for a nurse who loves the people side of veterinary nursing and enjoys helping clients feel informed, supported, and confident in their pet's care.
About You
We're looking for someone who:
Holds a Certificate IV in Veterinary NursingHas a minimum of 2+ years of veterinary nursing experienceEnjoys consult nursing and client communicationHas a strong understanding of veterinary nursing proceduresIs confident discussing preventative healthcare and treatment plans with clientsDemonstrates excellent customer service and relationship-building skillsHas strong organisational and administrative abilitiesBrings a calm, friendly, and professional presenceEnjoys working collaboratively within a team-based care modelHas experience with RxWorks (desirable but not essential)Most importantly, you're someone who enjoys creating exceptional experiences for both clients and patients and understands the important role communication plays in veterinary care.
