Today, ARH Homebush remains one of Australia's most established referral hospitals, caring for thousands of patients each year through a multidisciplinary team of Emergency Veterinarians, Specialists, Interns, Residents, and Veterinary Nurses.
As we continue to evolve and invest in our people and services, we are seeking a motivated and enthusiastic Surgery Veterinary Nurse to join our dynamic and growing referral surgery team at ARH Homebush!
This exciting opportunity will see you working alongside experienced veterinary surgeons, anaesthesia professionals and a highly skilled nursing team, supporting a diverse and challenging surgical caseload.
From complex orthopaedic and soft tissue procedures to advanced surgical patient care, you will play an integral role in ensuring our patients receive exceptional care throughout their surgical journey.

The successful candidate will be someone who;
Wants to further their career in veterinary nursingHas completed Cert IV in Veterinary Nursing and has at least 3 years nursing experienceHas a passion for surgeryIs enthusiastic and honestHas high standards and attention to detailAbility to work in a fast-paced environmentAbility to work as part of a team, and also independentlyExceptional time management and organisational skillsKnowledge of Rx works / Smart flow will be highly regarded (but not essential)Duties and responsibilities include:
Surgery patient treatments and carePatient recovery & monitoringIV catheter placement and fluid therapyTaking blood and using in-house lab equipmentCleaning and autoclaving of surgical instruments and specialised surgical equipmentSpecialist surgical and theatre nursingAnaesthesiaRadiology (including CT & MRI imaging)We envision a Full-Time role (38 hrs/wk) in our busy surgery department (10 hr shifts), however Part Time applicants will also be considered.
Training and support will be provided on an ongoing basis, with encouragement to grow surgical and anaesthesia skills with further education, which is financially supported.
The successful applicant will be well remunerated above the award rate.
