We are seeking an experienced Civil Engineer specializing in pavement design to join our organization in Riyadh, Saudi Arabia. This role focuses on designing and developing pavement systems for airport projects. The ideal candidate will bring a detail-oriented approach, strong analytical capabilities, and proven expertise in airport pavement design. You will work on complex infrastructure projects that require precision, efficiency, and comprehensive project organization from concept through construction documentation.
Design and analyze airport pavement systems including runways, taxiways, and aprons using industry-standard software and methodologiesDevelop detailed pavement design specifications and construction documentation in compliance with FAA, ICAO, and local Saudi Arabian standardsConduct geotechnical analysis and coordinate with soil engineers to ensure optimal pavement performance and longevityPrepare technical drawings, plans, and specifications using CAD software (AutoCAD, Civil 3D, or equivalent)Perform structural analysis and modeling of pavement layers to determine thickness requirements and material specificationsCollaborate with project managers, contractors, and stakeholders to ensure design feasibility and cost-effectivenessReview and evaluate existing pavement conditions and recommend rehabilitation or reconstruction strategiesEnsure all designs meet regulatory requirements, safety standards, and project specificationsParticipate in site inspections and provide technical support during construction phasesMaintain organized project documentation and maintain compliance with quality assurance protocols Minimum 10+ years of professional experience in civil engineering design with specific focus on pavement designProven experience designing airport projects (runways, taxiways, aprons, hungers, or similar facilities)Advanced proficiency with CAD software (AutoCAD, Civil 3D, or equivalent pavement design tools)Strong knowledge of pavement design standards and methodologies (FAA, ICAO, AASHTO guidelines)Experience with pavement analysis and design software (e.g., KENPAVE, EVERSTRESS, or similar tools)Solid understanding of geotechnical principles and their application to airport pavement designDemonstrated ability to prepare comprehensive construction specifications and technical documentationStrong analytical and problem-solving skills with meticulous attention to detailExcellent organizational and project management capabilitiesFamiliarity with airport operations and constraints is highly desirableKnowledge of Saudi Arabian construction standards and regulations is preferredProfessional Engineering (PE) licensure or equivalent certification is preferredStrong communication skills and ability to work effectively within multidisciplinary teams
