About this role
We're looking for a dedicated and detail-oriented HSE Engineer to join our team in Cairo, Egypt, supporting a large-scale construction project encompassing residential, mixed-use, and commercial components. In this role, you'll play a crucial part in developing, implementing, and maintaining comprehensive Health, Safety, and Environment management systems across multiple building types and construction phases. The ideal candidate will demonstrate exceptional analytical skills, a collaborative approach, and an unwavering commitment to fostering a safety-first culture across diverse work environments. You'll work closely with cross-functional teams, contractors, subcontractors, and stakeholders to ensure compliance with all HSE requirements and continuously improve our safety performance throughout the project lifecycle.
Develop, review, and update Health, Safety, and Environment Management Plans tailored to residential, mixed-use, and commercial construction phases in accordance with Egyptian regulations and organizational standardsCreate and execute comprehensive monitoring schedules including site tours, inspections, audits, and safety assessments specific to each project phase and building typeReview, approve, and verify HSE plans, method statements, risk assessments, and related deliverables from contractors and subcontractorsConduct thorough hazard identification and risk assessments specific to residential, commercial, and mixed-use construction hazards; develop and communicate appropriate control measures to all relevant partiesEnsure effective communication of HSE policies, objectives, standards, and hazard information to all personnel and contractors across all work zonesPerform pre-start safety kick-off meetings with contractors and vendors to establish clear expectations and requirements for each project phaseMonitor HSE performance across all operations; identify nonconformances and implement corrective actions in a timely mannerInvestigate all accidents, incidents, and near misses; prepare detailed reports and provide recommendations to prevent recurrenceSupport emergency response planning and ensure appropriate security, traffic management, and emergency arrangements for all project stakeholdersLead and facilitate regular Health and Safety meetings, inspections, and workshops; document observations, actions, and close-outs with transparency and precisionMaintain comprehensive HSE documentation and prepare regular performance reports for management review, tracking metrics across all project componentsCollaborate with project teams, design consultants, and stakeholders to integrate HSE requirements into all operational activities
Education:
Bachelor's degree in Occupational Health and Safety, Engineering, Environmental Science, or a related field
Qualifations:
Minimum 9+ years of professional HSE management experience within construction, industrial, or manufacturing sectorsProven track record developing, implementing, and managing comprehensive HSE management systems on large-scale projectsExtensive experience conducting safety audits, inspections, incident investigations, and root cause analysisDemonstrated senior-level HSE leadership experience with contractor management and compliance oversight
Location Requirement:
Must be based in or willing to relocate to Cairo
