We're looking for a detail-oriented and analytical ICT Network Specialist to join our organization at our port facility in Kuwait. In this role, you will be responsible for managing, maintaining, and optimizing our critical network infrastructure that supports port operations. The ideal candidate will demonstrate exceptional problem-solving abilities, strong organizational skills, and a commitment to ensuring network reliability and security in a fast-paced operational environment.
Design, implement, and maintain network infrastructure systems supporting port operations and logistics activitiesMonitor network performance using SNMP tools and network management platforms to ensure optimal system availability and efficiencyTroubleshoot network connectivity issues, analyze root causes, and implement timely resolutions to minimize operational downtimeConfigure and manage LAN/WAN connections, routers, switches, and firewalls to support organizational requirementsImplement and maintain network security protocols, access controls, and firewall policies to protect critical port systems and dataPerform regular network maintenance, updates, and patches while documenting all changes and configurationsCollaborate with vendors and service providers to resolve technical issues and coordinate equipment upgradesDevelop and maintain comprehensive network documentation, including topology diagrams, configurations, and disaster recovery proceduresConduct network capacity planning and optimization to support current and future operational needsRespond to security incidents and implement corrective measures to maintain system integrityProvide technical support to end-users and coordinate with IT teams on network-related issues **Required Skills and Experience:**
15+ years of professional experience in network administration and infrastructure managementAdvanced knowledge of TCP/IP protocols, network architecture, and OSI modelHands-on experience with Cisco, Juniper, or equivalent enterprise networking equipmentProficiency in LAN/WAN configuration, troubleshooting, and optimizationStrong understanding of network security, firewalls, VPNs, and access control systemsExperience with network monitoring and management tools (SNMP, Nagios, or similar platforms)Demonstrated ability to analyze network performance and identify optimization opportunitiesExcellent documentation and technical reporting skillsStrong problem-solving abilities and attention to detail**Preferred Skills and Experience:**
Experience working in port, maritime, or critical infrastructure environmentsKnowledge of port management systems and logistics software integrationExperience with network redundancy, failover systems, and disaster recovery planningVendor management and procurement experienceFamiliarity with network security certifications or best practicesExperience with network capacity planning and forecasting
