About this role
The Cloud Solutions Architect is responsible for designing and delivering scalable, secure, and resilient cloud architectures on Google Cloud Platform (GCP). The role focuses on enabling organizations to migrate, modernize, and optimize their workloads on the cloud by defining architecture strategies, implementing cloud foundations, and enabling DevOps practices that support automated and reliable delivery.
Roles and responsibilities:
Design end-to-end cloud architectures on Google Cloud Platform supporting enterprise workloads and cloud-native applicationsLead workload migration from on-premise or other cloud platforms to Google Cloud using structured migration frameworks and best practices.Define DevOps and platform engineering architectures including CI/CD pipelines, infrastructure automation, and release managementDefine migration strategies including rehost, replatform, refactor, rebuild, and replace approachesDesign and implement cloud landing zones aligned with security, governance, and compliance requirementsArchitect scalable and resilient infrastructure solutions leveraging GCP services such as Compute Engine, Cloud SQL, GKE, and Cloud RunLead migration assessments including application discovery, dependency mapping, and migration wave planningCollaborate with engineering teams to implement Infrastructure-as-Code using tools such as TerraformEnsure operational readiness through monitoring, logging, and reliability best practicesProvide technical leadership and architecture guidance throughout cloud migration and modernization programsSupport pre-sales activities including architecture workshops, and technical proposal developmentContribute to internal capability development, best practices, and reusable architecture patterns Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, or related field5+ years of experience in cloud architecture, infrastructure engineering, or cloud consulting rolesStrong experience designing solutions on Google Cloud PlatformGoogle Cloud Professional Cloud Architect certificationExperience leading enterprise workload migrations to public cloud environmentsExperience implementing DevOps practices including CI/CD pipelines and infrastructure automationStrong understanding of cloud infrastructure including compute, storage, networking, and identity managementExperience with container technologies such as Docker and Kubernetes (GKE preferred)Experience implementing Infrastructure-as-Code using Terraform or similar toolsStrong understanding of cloud networking including VPC design, hybrid connectivity, and security controlsExcellent communication skills and ability to present architecture solutions to technical and business stakeholdersPreferred Qualifications:
Strong understanding of cloud network architecture including the DR and cloud services and replication methodologies Deep expertise in core infrastructure services (e.g. AD, DNS, DHCP, ADFS)Experience with automated infrastructure discovery and application dependency mapping toolsKnowledge of cloud cost management and optimization strategies, including FinOps principlesFamiliarity with agile software development practices, DevSecOps integration, and CI/CD pipelines (GitHub Actions, GitLab, Jenkins)Familiarity with Database technologies (e.g. Oracle, SAP)Additional architecture certifications in AWS or Azure (e.g., AWS Certified Solutions Architect, Azure Solutions Architect Expert)Knowledge of local and international compliance and regulatory frameworks (NCA, SAMA, ISO 27001)Experience in a client-facing, consulting role is highly desirableExperience with observability and monitoring platformsExperience with application modernization and containerized workloads
