Job SummaryThis POWERED SUPPORT SYSTEMS MECHANIC position, is located in the Army Aviation Support Facility (AASF), Logistics function or the Aviation Classification and Repair Activity Depot (AVCRAD) and mission support units and is part of the CA AASF Los Alamitos.
QualificationsGeneral Experience: Possess experience or training which demonstrates the knowledge of mechanical maintenance work; ability to read and use technical manuals, illustrations, diagrams and schematics, and skill in the use of equipment and hand tools used in troubleshooting, testing and repairing equipment. POWERED SUPPORT SYSTEMS MECHANIC, WG-5378-10: Must have 18 months experience or training removing, adjusting, replacing, cleaning, and installing parts, components, and accessories; Experience which provided working knowledge of mechanical, electrical, and hydraulic theory applying to powered support equipment and systems; and skill to replace, fit, install, and make adjustments; Experience which provided working knowledge of the makeup and operation of the various individual systems maintained and their interrelationships. Experience reading and interpreting parts lists, manufactures' repair manuals, diagrams, and electrical schematics. Your qualifications will be evaluated on the following competencies: Ability To Inspect Knowledge of Equipment Assembly, Installation, Repair, etc. Knowledge of Materials Trouble Shooting
Major DutiesTHIS IS A T32 EXCEPTED SERVICE, PERMANENT POSITION The primary purpose of the POWERED SUPPORT SYSTEMS MECHANIC, WG-5378-10, is to perform duties involving the maintenance and repair of power ground and other support equipment used in aircraft servicing and repairs. May make additional selections within 90 days of eligible(s) issuance.RequirementsCALIFORNIA NATIONAL GUARD MEMBERSHIP IS REQUIRED: This is an excepted service position that requires membership in the California National Guard. Selectee will be required to wear the military uniform. Acceptance of an excepted service position constitutes concurrence with these requirements as a condition of employment. Must maintain appropriate level of security clearance. May be required to successfully complete a one or two year trial period. Must wear appropriate military uniform including required grooming standards. Must maintain a compatible military unit, grade and job assignment as required by current directives. Participation in direct deposit is mandatory. Security Clearance: at a minimum a National Agency Check is required.
