As a shunter at VTS, you'll ensure that trailers and vehicles are positioned in the correct locations. Stock Controller Do you enjoy working with heavy machinery and are you looking for a well-paid (part-time) job in the evenings or at weekends? For our transport yard, we are looking for a yard handler to ensure that trailers and vehicles are positioned in the correct places, so that our operations can continue to run smoothly. Whether you're currently working in transport, are a (tractor) driver looking to put in some extra hours, or are a pensioner keen to stay active: if you have experience with large vehicles, we'd love to hear from you. What will you be doing? As a yard handler, you will be responsible for moving semi-trailers and other vehicles on our own premises. You will ensure that vehicles are in the correct location on time for loading, unloading, maintenance or departure. Vehicles are loaded for our drivers, so it is important that the team of loaders and unloaders can carry on with their work. Your duties will include: - Shunting semi-trailers and vehicles on site. - Preparing equipment for the following day. - Maintaining contact with drivers and managing operations at the cross-dock. - Working carefully and safely in accordance with the applicable procedures. - · Operating refrigeration units to keep goods at the correct temperature during transport. We are looking for people to work on Friday evenings and during the day at the weekend (Saturday & Sunday). Working one of these shifts is already an option.
