Mental Health Counselor (MHC) – MassachusettsThird Space Therapy combines the independence of private practice with the support of a group setting, focused on expanding access to Medicaid-covered behavioral healthcare.
We're looking for passionate Mental Health Counselors (MHCs) to provide telehealth therapy to Medicaid members across Massachusetts while continuing to accrue clinical experience toward independent LMHC licensure.
For this opportunity, candidates must already have an established LMHC supervisor outside of Third Space who can provide the supervision required toward LMHC licensure. Third Space will provide additional clinical support and connect MHCs with our experienced independently licensed clinicians as part of our practice model.
This is a part-time, hourly W-2 position based in Massachusetts.

What you'll needA Master's degree in Mental Health Counseling, Counseling Psychology, Clinical Mental Health Counseling, or another qualifying field for LMHC licensure in Massachusetts
Current eligibility to practice and accrue supervised clinical experience toward LMHC licensure in Massachusetts
An established LMHC supervisor outside of Third Space who is qualified to provide supervision toward your Massachusetts LMHC licensure
Hands-on experience providing psychotherapy, behavioral health assessments, or other direct clinical mental health services
Experience with mental health diagnoses, treatment planning, and clinical documentation
Comfort using EHR systems, telehealth platforms, and other digital tools
A quiet, HIPAA-compliant home office for confidential virtual sessions
Fluency in English; proficiency in Spanish is preferred, and additional languages are a plus
We're looking for counselors who bringA strong foundational understanding of mental health diagnoses and clinical presentation
Experience developing individualized, clinically appropriate treatment plans
Familiarity with evidence-based therapeutic modalities and the ability to explain how you apply them in practice
Skill conducting behavioral health assessments and using clinical findings to guide treatment
Strong clinical documentation and communication skills
The ability to build therapeutic rapport with diverse client populations in a virtual environment
A collaborative approach to working with clients, supervisors, and the broader clinical team
A commitment to serving Medicaid populations and communities that have historically faced barriers to behavioral healthcare
Important supervision requirementBecause MHC licensure in Massachusetts has specific supervision requirements, applicants for this position must already have an LMHC supervisor outside of Third Space who can provide qualifying supervision toward independent licensure.
During the application and interview process, we'll ask you to confirm that this supervision relationship is already established.

Compensation:
Example: $47 for intake and $18 per hour for documentation
Example: $44 for 60 min session and $18 per hour for documentation
