Pay Rate: $21.50 - $23.50 per hour
Work Schedule: 7:00am - 3:30pm, Monday - Friday, with overtime as needed.
Duties and Responsibilities
The Environmental, Health, and Safety (EHS) Technician I supports the implementation and maintenance of workplace safety and environmental programs. This role assists in ensuring compliance with health, safety, and environmental regulations while promoting a safe and sustainable work environment. The EHS Technician I works under guidance to monitor safety practices, conduct inspections, and support continuous improvement initiatives.
Regulatory Compliance: Assist in ensuring adherence to OSHA, EPA, and other applicable safety and environmental regulationsInspection & Risk Identification: Support routine workplace inspections and hazard assessments to identify potential risks and unsafe conditionsIncident Investigation Support: Assist with incident investigations, including documenting findings and helping identify root causes and corrective actionsSafety Training: Help coordinate and deliver basic safety training programs, including new hire orientation and recurring safety topicsData Collection & Reporting: Maintain safety records, track basic safety metrics, and assist with report preparationEnvironmental Support: Assist with waste management, recycling programs, and environmental compliance activitiesEmergency Preparedness: Support emergency response planning, drills, and preparedness initiativesBasic understanding of OSHA safety standards and workplace safety practicesAbility to identify hazards and recognize unsafe conditionsStrong attention to detail and organizational skillsEffective communication skills (verbal and written)Ability to follow established procedures and work under supervisionBasic knowledge of incident reporting and documentation practicesAbility to support safety training and engage with employeesWillingness to learn industrial hygiene, ergonomics, and safety auditing practices 0–2 years of experience in a manufacturing, industrial, or related environment (internship/co-op experience acceptable)Basic knowledge of OSHA regulations or workplace safety principles preferredStrong communication and organizational skillsAbility to manage multiple tasks and prioritize work effectivelyDemonstrated ability to work collaboratively in a team environmentLifting Capacity – ability to lift up 30 lbs.Mobility – prolonged periods of time on feet, standing, bending, etc.Exposure – moving mechanical parts, fumes, airborne particles, and non-climate-controlled environmentNoise Tolerance – high noise levelsEducation: Associate’s or Bachelor’s degree in Environmental Science, Occupational Health & Safety, or a related field; or equivalent combination of education and experienceCertifications (Preferred): OSHA 10 or OSHA 30 certification; willingness to obtain additional certifications Site Address: 4020 SW 449th St, Horseshoe Beach, FL 32648
This is a position with the potential overtime. The shifts are 8 hours, 10 hours, and 12 hours long depending on work orders for the day and season of the year.
