We are seeking an experienced and organised Head of Laundry to join our team at Constance Prince Maurice, Mauritius. In this pivotal role, you will oversee all laundry operations for our luxury resort, ensuring the highest standards of cleanliness, quality, and efficiency. You will lead a dedicated team, manage resources effectively, and maintain compliance with health, safety, and environmental regulations. The successful candidate will be instrumental in delivering exceptional laundry services that support our guests' experience and uphold our organisation's reputation for excellence.
Oversee all daily laundry operations, including washing, drying, pressing, and folding of linens and guest garmentsLead, supervise, and motivate the laundry team, providing clear direction, performance feedback, and professional development opportunitiesEstablish and maintain rigorous quality control standards to ensure all items meet our exacting specificationsManage inventory levels of linens, chemicals, and supplies, ensuring adequate stock whilst minimising wasteMaintain and monitor industrial laundry equipment, coordinating repairs and maintenance to minimise downtimeDevelop and implement efficient scheduling systems to meet operational demands and guest requirementsMonitor and manage departmental budgets, identifying cost-saving opportunities without compromising qualityConduct regular staff induction and training programmes to ensure competency and consistencyLiaise with other departments to understand specific laundry requirements and resolve any issues promptlyMaintain detailed records of operations, including inventory, maintenance, and staff performanceImplement and promote sustainable laundry practices to minimise environmental impact Proven experience managing laundry operations in a hospitality or large-scale commercial environmentDemonstrated leadership experience with the ability to supervise and motivate teams effectivelyStrong knowledge of industrial laundry equipment, processes, and maintenance requirementsExcellent organisational and time-keeping skills with the ability to manage multiple prioritiesProficiency in inventory management and stock control systemsThorough understanding of health, safety, and environmental regulations relevant to laundry operations.Sound knowledge of chemical handling, storage, and safety protocolsExperience in budget management and cost controlStrong people skills and the ability to communicate clearly with team members and other departmentsAttention to detail and commitment to maintaining high quality standardsProblem-solving abilities and a proactive approach to operational challengesDesirable experience with sustainability initiatives and eco-friendly laundry practices WORK WITH CONSTANCE
