About Janitor
Janitor is building AI interactive entertainment for millions of people. Every day our users create characters, worlds, stories, and relationships with AI. We are looking for a designer who wants to shape how all of that works and feels.
People spend hours here. Small decisions about how they discover a character, follow a conversation, or build something of their own matter. There is a lot to improve, and you will have room to decide what that looks like.
What you'll work on
Designing the core experience across web and mobile: discovering characters, chatting, creating, and more
Turning complicated AI-enabled features into interactions people understand without explanation
Giving Janitor a more consistent visual language, with care for typography, layout, motion, and the details people touch every day
Working directly with engineers to get designs built and making sure the shipped product feels right
Using the product, listening to users, and revisiting decisions based on what you learn

You have experience working on consumer products with a particular focus on mobile apps and mobile web
You're excited about having ownership over the look and feel of a product used by millions of people every day
You enjoy working quickly as part of a small team
We have a strong preference for candidates who can work in-person in our San Francisco office, but will consider remote candidates for this role.
