The Town of Arcola is seeking an experienced and motivated individual for the full-time, permanent position of Public Works Foreman. This is a hands-on working Foreman position responsible for leading Public Works operations while working alongside staff to maintain the Towns infrastructure and essential services.Key Responsibilities:- Supervise and work alongside Public Works staff- Plan and organize daily and seasonal operations- Operate and maintain water treatment and distribution systems- Operate and maintain wastewater treatment and collection systems- Maintain streets, drainage, buildings and other municipal infrastructure- Operate and maintain municipal equipment- Coordinate repairs and troubleshoot infrastructure issues- Maintain required operational records and assist with regulatory requirements- Participate in after-hours/on-call duties as required- Work with the Administrator on projects, maintenance priorities and future planningQualifications:Preference will be given to applicants with municipal Public Works experience and:- Class 1 Water Treatment- Class 1 Water Distribution- Class 1 Wastewater Treatment- Class 1 Wastewater Collection- Heavy equipment operation and maintenance experience- Strong leadership, organizational and problem-solving skills- Valid drivers licenceApplicants with strong municipal/water and wastewater experience who are working toward required certifications may be considered.Salary: $70,000 - $80,000/year based on experience and qualifications.The Town offers full benefits, an excellent pension plan and stable, permanent employment.Apply with resume and qualifications to [email protected] remain open until a suitable candidate is found.
