Blink Impact is an international single family office of impact investment and technology professionals, pursuing investments and projects with the overall aim to create opportunities and reimagine sustainability. Operating from Amsterdam and Barcelona, the impact investment team has built a diversified portfolio of impact funds and co-investments across Sub-Saharan Africa, Latin America, Europe and the USA, and in various impact themes. With a new targeted strategy, the impact investment team will be focusing on opportunities in Land and Food Systems and Communities and Cultures within our desired geographies.
What are we looking for?
We are looking for an experienced Investment Associate to join our Impact Investment Team in Barcelona temporarily for a period of approximately 10 Months, starting early december.
For the duration of the contract, the Investment Associate is a core member of the investment team. You will be primarily responsible for executing and managing impact investments in the team. Furthermore, the position also involves analysing industries and trends relevant to our geographies and impact themes, as well as supporting the accounting and operations related to deploying impact investments.
What will you be responsible for?
• Assist with scouting and vetting of new prospective opportunities.
• Perform investment due diligence on funds and companies that fit Blink’s investment mandate, including business, financial, legal, ESG and impact diligence (with team support on legal and impact matters).
• Present transactions for internal approval and manage the investment closing process.
• Manage the assigned portfolio of fund and direct investments.
• Develop financial models to evaluate investment performance and support liquidity projections.
• Research and prepare analyses relevant to impact investments to inform and guide the investment strategy, including thesis creation, market maps, industry research, where relevant.
• Support reporting, accounting, and operations related to Blink Private Investments.

Essential:
• Minimum 5 years of professional experience with a minimum of 3 years experience in private investments at an impact investing firm, venture fund, investment bank, development bank, or similar;
• Robust financial skills; sound business judgement, modelling skills and demonstrated ability to structure financial instruments);
• Master or undergraduate degree in business, finance, investment or other relevant coursework;
• Client relationship skills, track record and ability to focus on client needs effectively;
• Willingness to travel, including emerging markets, if necessary;
• Excellent verbal and written communication skills in English;
• EU work permit
Desirable:
• Experience in emerging markets
• Experience in assessing fund investments
• CFA or similar professional investment certification
• Prior experience of thought leadership in one of our impact themes; specifically Land and Food Systems and Communities and Cultures
