About this role
Are you curious about X-ray imaging, data processing and how computed tomography can reveal the internal structure of materials? Would you like to combine practical data acquisition with analysis and visualization while learning in a research environment? Then this position at 3DIM could be a great opportunity for you. As a student assistant at 3DIM, you will contribute to DANFIX activities and work with a broad range of tasks, including: Acquiring CT data using the imaging facilities in 3DIM Processing, analysing and visualizing CT data Supporting tasks related to the operation of DANFIX Contributing to projects running in DANFIX, for example Motorvej for Materialeviden What we expect from you We are looking for students with an interest in data processing and scientific imaging. A background combining physics and computer science is highly relevant, but students from other fields are also encouraged to apply. Previous experience with CT is not required. Most importantly, you are curious and willing to learn about the methods, instruments and research areas we work with. Experience with data processing, programming or visualization is an advantage, but we also expect that many of the relevant skills will be developed as part of the job. We value curiosity, collaboration and a willingness to take on different types of tasks. You should enjoy working with both practical data acquisition and computer-based data processing and be comfortable learning new methods as the work develops. What we offer in return We provide a varied working environment where you will gain hands-on experience with X-ray CT, data acquisition, data analysis and visualization while working together with researchers and users of the facility. The positions are approximately 8 hours per week, with flexible scheduling. You can organize your hours in relation to your studies, exams and other commitments. You will have the opportunity to become familiar with many different types of materials and research questions, and to see how researchers use CT as part of their investigations. At DTU, you will be part of one of Europe's leading research and educational institutions. You enter an organization that aims to develop knowledge at an international level. You can look forward to a challenging and developing workplace with high professionalism. Of course, we make sure that you get the necessary sparring and competence development at the same time.
