Located in Long Beach, California, Gentle Care Pet Clinic has proudly served pets and their families since 1997. The small-animal practice provides personalized, compassionate care for dogs and cats, offering services including wellness and preventive care, dentistry, diagnostics and imaging, surgery, and pharmacy support. With a dedicated team and a focus on individualized, thoughtful care, Gentle Care Pet Clinic strives to create a welcoming environment where pets receive the attention and care they need at every stage of life.
We are actively searching for a Full-Time Veterinary Assistant to join our team! The ideal candidate will have experience as a Veterinary Assistant and Saturday availability.
Qualifications
• Experience as a Veterinary Assistant.
• Strong animal handling skills and knowledge of clinical procedures.
• Excellent communication and teamwork skills. • Ability to multi-task and prioritize in a clinical environment. • Reliable and dependable. Responsibilities
• Assist the veterinary team with patient restraint, handling, and treatment • Prepare exam rooms and patients for appointments • Obtain and record patient weights and basic vital signs • Assist with collecting and preparing laboratory samples • Prepare and maintain surgical and treatment areas • Assist with surgical and dental procedures as directed • Monitor and care for patients before, during, and after procedures • Clean, disinfect, and maintain kennels, treatment areas, and equipment • Administer medications and treatments as directed and within applicable scope of practice • Assist with radiographs and other diagnostic procedures • Maintain accurate and timely patient records • Stock and maintain clinical supplies and equipment • Communicate patient updates and concerns to the veterinary team
Compensation $20-$24/hr, depending on experience
