Role Description
The Land Technician I/II supports the Land Department by managing lease obligations, maintaining accurate land data, and providing administrative and technical support. Responsibilities include:
Reviewing payment obligations and recommending actions for new agreements and lease extensions. Conducting research on lease surrender requests and ensuring requisite reviews and approvals. Supporting opportunity generation by compiling title information for Land Acquisitions. Maintaining data integrity in systems. Analyzing data to confirm leasehold Held By Production (HBP) status. Coding invoices and handling related expenses. Coordinating with Land Acquisitions and Owner Relations teams to respond to landowner inquiries. Providing technical and administrative support to Land Department personnel.
Qualifications
High School Degree/GED. 0-4+ years of experience in land administration, land analysis, or oil & gas operations. Familiarity with land systems, GIS/mapping tools, and regulatory databases. Understanding of oil & gas leases, title, and HBP concepts. Strong analytical, organizational, and problem-solving skills. High attention to detail with a focus on data accuracy. Proficiency in Microsoft Excel and data management tools.
Requirements
Bachelor’s degree (preferred). Membership in AAPL (American Association of Professional Landmen) or similar organization (preferred). Proficiency in Quorum for land management tasks (preferred). Proficiency in Salesforce CRM (preferred). Preference for candidates residing in the Appalachian region. Remote work is being considered for this role, excluding specific states unless willing to relocate.
