. Engineering Intern Role Purpose / Mission The Engineering Intern supports the engineering team in improving manufacturing processes, equipment performance, and overall operational efficiency. This role provides hands-on experience in a manufacturing environment while contributing to real-world projects that align with Webco’s commitment to safety, quality, and continuous improvement. Key Responsibilities • Assist engineers with process improvement initiatives to enhance safety, quality, and productivity • Support data collection, analysis, and reporting for manufacturing performance metrics • Create and update technical documentation, standard work instructions, and drawings • Participate in troubleshooting equipment and process issues alongside engineering and maintenance teams • Assist with time studies, workflow analysis, and capacity evaluations • Support capital projects, including equipment installation, layout planning, and commissioning activities • Collaborate with cross-functional teams including operations, maintenance, and quality • Observe and document current processes to identify opportunities for improvement • Maintain organized project files, reports, and engineering documentation • Participate in continuous improvement efforts and team meetings

Required & Preferred Qualifications Required: • Currently pursuing a Bachelor’s degree in Engineering (Mechanical, Industrial, Electrical, or related field) • Basic knowledge of engineering principles and problem-solving techniques • Proficiency in Microsoft Office (Excel, Word, PowerPoint) • Strong willingness to learn and work in a manufacturing environment Preferred: • Previous internship, co-op, or hands-on project experience • Exposure to CAD software (AutoCAD, SolidWorks, or similar) • Familiarity with manufacturing processes or industrial environments • Experience with data analysis tools or basic programming Typical Physical Demands • Ability to sit, stand, and walk for extended periods • Frequent use of a computer and standard office equipment • Occasional lifting up to 25 pounds • Ability to access manufacturing areas, including climbing stairs or ladders • Visual acuity to review data, drawings, and equipment Typical Working Conditions • Combination of office and manufacturing floor environment • Exposure to noise, heat, dust, and moving equipment when in plant areas • Required use of personal protective equipment (PPE) in operational environments • Close interaction with operations, maintenance, and engineering teams • Work performed under supervision with increasing responsibility over time .
