The Safety Coordinator is an enabler of our safety vision and is responsible for implementing Safety initiatives and strategies for the Macon Georgia site. The safety coordinator will embody our desire to operate at the highest standards to ensure the protection of employees, the public, and the environment. The candidate will display a high level of care toward safety and well-being. This role currently works 12 hour day shift following a set of crew rotations. Safety Engagement
• Perform equipment safety audits / inspections • Respond to plant emergencies (medical, fire, spill, etc.) • Facilitate hazard assessments process (JSA, Risk Assessments) • Provide follow up on hazards reported by employees • Assist supervisors with incident investigation. • Provide general safety communication to employees • Drive initiatives to meet ICP SMS requirements • Establish and maintain a regular floor presence throughout each department as safety liaison and advocate. Administrative and Training
• Maintain records, investigate accidents and injuries, and prepare appropriate reports (e.g., Workers' Compensation, OSHA Log, Monthly KPIs, action plans, etc.). • Track and trend incidents, injuries, and hazards. • Respond to general communication • Perform equipment maintenance (calibrations) • Develop and conduct employee training programs for accident, fire prevention and protection. • Provide safety orientation for new employees Support
• Travel to and support site initiatives • Attendance and involvement at plant safety committees • Respond to employee requests
High School Diploma or GED Preferred BS or AA in Health and Safety
Ability to achieve safety certification within one year of appointment. At least three (3) years of experience in an industrial setting, with some focus on safety responsibilities Experience with Incident investigation and root cause analysis
