Clerical Administrative Assistant Lagganlia Outdoor Centre Hours: 4.5 per week Salary: £27,257 - £29,850 We are seeking a clerical and administrative assistant to join the team at Lagganlia. Lagganlia is one of three Outdoor Centres, operating under the Experience Outdoors brand. We are part of The City of Edinburgh Council's Education service and estate, providing outdoor learning experiences for schools and young people, whilst also operating commercially out- with term time to generate income that support and invests in Outdoor Learning. Lagganlia welcomes a wide range of customers throughout the year, including schools, self catering groups, charities, clubs and organisations. This is an in person role, based within the Centre’s office and reception area, you will often be one of the first and key points of contact for our customers and visitors. The role is varied and will support the day to day administration and operation of the Centre. This may include managing telephone, radio, online and face to face enquiries; maintaining booking information and communications; supporting routine financial and procurement administration; assisting with the promotion of the Centre and its services; and contributing to the operation of the centre, including undertaking routine checks and other practical tasks where required. We are looking for someone who is organised, solution focused and confident communicating with a wide range of customers. You will need to be able to prioritise competing demands and at times, work independently and use your own initiative. You should be confident using IT and digital systems, comfortable working across a range of different applications and able to learn new systems and processes. Good communications, willingness to help and attention to detail will also be important. While the contracted hours are 4.5 hours per week, normally worked on a Friday to support guests checking in, we are particularly interested in someone with flexibility to support standby arrangements and ad hoc cover. This may include weekday and weekend duties depending on the operational needs of the Centre. This post would suit someone who enjoys variety, working with people and being part of a busy team, and who can adapt their approach to whatever the working day brings. Experience in customer facing, tourism or hospitality environment would be advantageous.
