Posted are the minimum and the maximum wage rates on the wage range for this position. The successful candidate's placement on the wage range for this position will be determined based upon relevant job experience and other applicable factors. These amounts are the base pay range; additional compensation may be available for this role, such as shift differentials, standby/on-call, overtime, premiums, extra shift incentives, or bonus opportunities.

The Laboratory Assistant is responsible for clinical laboratory duties to include, but are not limited to:
Reception and Telephone duties, operating laboratory equipment including HIS/LIS systems, specimen handling and processing, shipping of Laboratory specimens for at Reference Laboratories. Performs Waived CLIA testing (e.g. Influenza, RSV, Group Strep A, urine HCG, MONO, WBC, Hemoglobin, CMP, INR, UA and IFOB). Perform and document quality control on analyzers such as the Piccolo, HemoCue and Urocheck. Documentation on daily worksheets. Registering, ordering and obtaining patient samples per physician orders. Phlebotomy - collection of Blood samples. Obtaining blood samples by skin puncture and venipuncture. Therapeutic blood collection and Bone Marrow. Order and distribute supplies. Must have the ability to work varying shifts.

Required qualifications:
• Upon hire: Washington Medical Assistant Phlebotomist Certification • 1 year experience as a Medical Assistant or Laboratory Assistant performing phlebotomy and CLIA waived testing in a clinical setting.
Preferred qualifications:
• Coursework/Training: Medical Assistant or Phlebotomy training Program/Course approved by WA State.
