Executive ‐ Industrial Relations (1 Year Contract) (Based at Activewear - Biyagama) The Activewear Value Stream delivers high-performance sportswear and athleisure solutions designed for technical functionality, durability and everyday versatility— serving sports, lifestyle and performance segments. We are on the lookout for a dedicated individual to maintain good relationships with assigned employee categories thereby, assisting in matters pertaining to Industrial Relations such as preliminary investigation, domestic inquiries, and grievance handling whilst, supporting all ERB related functions in order to maintain the goodwill of the Organization at all times. KEY RESPONSIBILITIES
• Coordinate with all SBUs & collect the preliminary investigation reports for all categories of employees as and when a misconduct/ disciplinary issue is reported while drafting relevant show cause letters/ collate other necessary documentation whilst, ensuring utmost confidentiality in all bearings. • Ensure that the grievance procedure is adhered to for all grievances that are raised by employees, whilst conducting initial investigations and draft relevant correspondences when required. • Ensure to provide support to the labor tribunal cases/ labor court cases/ magistrate court cases for SBU’s as and when needed by liaising with lawyers, EFC and relevant personal to ensure Company interest is protected in an efficient manner whilst prepare and share updates about the progress of all the labor tribunal cases on monthly basis with the senior management. • Ensure timely completion of overall disciplinary process by taking due responsibility as the Prosecuting Officer and maintain records of all cases and update the system with all the case details within the timelines. • Support the effective execution of ERB functions across all SBU’s by facilitating the selection process of representatives with the involvement of the BOI/ Labour Department (Election monitoring) whilst gather and review ERB meeting minutes on monthly basis & share the update with the senior management & Group. • Co-ordinate and arrange trainings for both Team Member and Executive/ Management levels to enhance the knowledge of MAS Compliance Management Framework and MAS DNA and provide necessary training dates with regards to DNA training to Group HR. KNOWLEDGE AND SKILLS
• Degree in Industrial Law or Sociology or Human Resources with an exposure to Labour Law. • 1 - 2 years of relevant work experience. • Strong communication skills. • Good analytical skills.
