About this role
Job purpose The Technician – Earthmoving Equipment is responsible for carrying out scheduled maintenance, inspections and standard repairs on earthmoving and construction equipment in accordance with OEM procedures. The role supports workshop and field-service operations by completing assigned jobs safely, accurately and within the specified time, under the supervision of the Team Leader, Senior Technician or Master Technician. Job responsibilities
• Carry out routine servicing, preventive maintenance and machine inspections according to Liebherr/OEM procedures. • Perform standard mechanical, hydraulic and basic electrical repairs under the direction of the Team Leader or Senior Technician. • Replace filters, fluids, hoses, belts, seals, wear parts and other service components as assigned. • Assist Senior and Master Technicians with fault diagnosis, major repairs, component replacement and machine testing. • Inspect equipment for leaks, wear, damage and abnormal operation, and report findings to the Team Leader. • Support workshop and customer-site repair activities, including machine cleaning, preparation, functional checks and safe movement of equipment. • Complete job cards, maintenance checklists, labour entries and parts usage accurately. • Use tools, lifting equipment and diagnostic devices correctly, and maintain the cleanliness of the work area. • Follow all workshop and field safety requirements, including PPE, lockout/tagout, lifting and high-pressure hydraulic safety. • Escalate complex faults, repeat failures and additional repair requirements to the Team Leader or Senior Technician. Educational Qualification
• Diploma / ITI / Trade Certificate in Diesel Mechanic, Mechanical, Automobile or Heavy Equipment Maintenance.
Work Experience
• Minimum 2 to 4 years of hands-on experience in earthmoving, construction, mining, agricultural or heavy-equipment maintenance. • Practical exposure to excavators, wheel loaders, dozers, crawler machines, hydraulic equipment or similar construction machinery. • Experience with Liebherr or comparable heavy-equipment brands will be an advantage. Competencies
• Basic to intermediate knowledge of diesel engines, hydraulic systems, powertrain, undercarriage and electrical systems. • Ability to carry out routine maintenance and standard repairs under technical supervision. • Basic ability to use OEM diagnostic tools, service manuals, wiring diagrams and hydraulic schematics. • Ability to inspect components and identify visible wear, damage, leakage and abnormal operating conditions. • Ability to follow repair instructions, standard operating procedures and safety requirements. • Ability to correctly use hand tools, measuring instruments, lifting equipment and workshop machinery. • Good problem-solving ability with the discipline to escalate faults beyond the assigned level of authority. • Ability to work effectively as part of a workshop or mobile-service team. • Basic computer knowledge for digital job cards, service portals, diagnostic applications and parts lookup. • Safety awareness, quality focus, teamwork, reliability and willingness to learn. Certifications and Licenses
• OEM technical training in earthmoving or construction equipment will be an advantage. • Training in diesel engines, hydraulics, electrical systems or heavy-equipment maintenance will be preferred. • Safety training in lifting operations, lockout/tagout, hydraulic systems and workplace risk control will be an advantage. • Valid UAE driving licence preferred for field-service and mobile-support activities. • Forklift, air-conditioning or heavy-equipment operating certification will be an added advantage. Languages
• Basic English communication required.
• Hindi, Urdu or Arabic will be an added advantage.
