About this role
Airbnb was born in 2007 when two hosts welcomed three guests to their San Francisco home, and has since grown to over 5 million hosts who have welcomed over 2 billion guest arrivals in almost every country across the globe. Every day, hosts offer unique stays and experiences that make it possible for guests to connect with communities in a more authentic way.
The Community you will join: The Chief Business Officer (CBO) organization drives Airbnb's growth and expansion around the world, commercializing our new and existing businesses and executing our global strategy in the market. The Global Markets team sits within CBO and makes sure Airbnb is locally relevant everywhere we operate, working with regions to plan and execute growth across supply, demand, and the surfaces our communities use.
Asia is one of the largest growth opportunities in that portfolio and one of the most complex regions to run: Japan, Korea, India and Southeast Asia sit at very different stages of maturity, with distinct competitive sets, regulatory contexts and consumer behaviour. Over the past year, the region has built a new operating system and scaled multiple growth levers from single-market pilots to regional programs. That growth has outpaced our capacity to run it: business reporting, program delivery and the cross-functional roadmap currently sit with one person alongside the regional strategy agenda. We are building a dedicated capability to own how Asia operates and how Asia delivers, and we want you at the centre of it.
The difference you will make: This role is based in Singapore and requires regular travel across Asia.
In this role you report to the Senior Business Operations and Growth Lead, Asia and work closely with country Business Operations and Growth Leads across Japan, Korea, India and Southeast Asia, alongside central teams in growth marketing, product, payments, supply, policy and brand. You own the Asia business reporting and operating cadence, and you lead the delivery of the region's growth levers and its cross-functional roadmap.
This is deliberately an ownership role in insights and execution, distinct from the roles around it. Countries own their market plans and outcomes, growth marketing, product and merchandising teams build the platforms, and Strategic Finance and Advanced Analytics own objective tracking and measurement standards. You own the connective tissue between them: the reporting that gives the region one accurate and current picture, the delivery of growth levers into market, the roadmap accountability that keeps cross-functional commitments on track, and the competitive read that tells us where we are gaining and losing.
A typical day:
Lead the end-to-end operations and delivery of selected regional growth levers including go-to-market, measurement and optimization Own the regional business reporting structure, inputs and cadence regionally and globally Own the regional view of the cross-functional roadmap across supply, product, payments, policy, brand and growth marketing, and drive accountability on delivery through cross-functional collaboration Own the regional competitive view across both guest and host and enable capabilities locally for country teams for local competitors Build AI-enabled automation into the region's reporting, insight delivery and recurring operations that scales team output Synthesize data, trends, guest and host insights, and analysis into actionable recommendations for the regional business Conduct deep dives into operational, programs or functional topics as needed, working with FP&A to assess business performance across areas of strength and weakness Drive entity prioritization and lead entity setup across Asia markets, coordinating with legal, tax, finance and country teams
Your expertise:
10+ years in business operations, strategy, consulting or program management, ideally in a marketplace, consumer technology, hospitality or online travel agency (OTA) environment Experience managing programs or operations across multiple countries with varying levels of maturity, and across time zones A proven track record building and running business operating cadences for a distributed organization: reporting, business reviews, and the follow-through that makes commitments land Exceptional cross-functional orchestration in a heavily matrixed organization, creating clarity where ownership is split across product, growth marketing, payments, supply and country teams Strong operating discipline: cross-workstream roadmaps, launch management, business reviews and executive reporting, and crisp written communication that keeps distributed teams aligned Builds operational leverage with AI: a track record of applying AI and automation to reporting, insight generation and repetitive operational work, with measurable time saved or scale gained. You treat this as part of how you work, not a side project. Analytical fluency: comfortable in the numbers, builds the analysis personally, and sets consistent measurement standards with analytics and finance partners (Excel) Thrives in ambiguity, with a strong bias to action, ownership and ruthless prioritization Fluent written and spoken English Desirable: hands-on experience with one or more growth levers such as incentives, promotions and coupons, host-funded offers, lifecycle and CRM, or merchandising. Familiarity with the business, economic and cultural environments across Asia.
Reasonable Accommodations: We are committed to providing reasonable accommodations throughout the recruitment process for applicants with disabilities. If you need assistance, or an accommodation, please let your recruiter know once you are contacted about a role.
A Note on Recruiting Scams: Scammers sometimes pose as Airbnb recruiters to get money or personal information from candidates. A few things that will always be true for Airbnb’s hiring process: our open roles are posted on Airbnb’s Career’s Page at careers.airbnb.com, and our recruiters correspond only from @airbnb.com or @ext.airbnb.com email addresses. Our recruiters will never ask for your Social Security number, bank account details, passport, or payment app information while you are interviewing. We’ll also never ask you to pay a fee, send money, deposit or cash a check, or purchase work-related equipment (such as a company laptop) during the interview process. We encourage candidates to remain vigilant of these recruiting scams and not share sensitive information if you do not believe an individual is actually affiliated with Airbnb.
