Oxford University Press is looking for a Social Media Assistant to support our Academic Marketing team and help drive engagement across our global social media channels. You will play a key role in maintaining and growing our academic social media presence, working with global stakeholders and contributing to initiatives that support researchers, educators, and academic communities worldwide. Opportunity As a Social Media Assistant, you will support the day-to-day management of Oxford University Press's Academic social media channels. Key responsibilities include: Reviewing and scheduling social media content across Academic marketing channels. Ensuring content aligns with brand and social media best practices. Monitoring social media platforms and providing first-line support for customer queries and issues. Working closely with Marketing, Customer Services, and Communications teams to manage urgent communications and escalate issues when required. Supporting the creation of timely, engaging, and audience-focused content around industry trends, conferences, and key academic conversations. Maintaining social media documentation, processes, and best practice guides. Tracking social media performance metrics and preparing regular analytics reports. Identifying opportunities to improve engagement and content effectiveness through a data-driven approach. Through your work, you will help strengthen Oxford University Press's relationship with the global academic community, support strategic marketing objectives, and contribute to the growth and success of our social media channels. About You Essential Criteria Bachelor's degree or equivalent professional experience. Excellent written and verbal communication skills in English. Strong editing, proofreading, and copy-editing capabilities. Excellent interpersonal skills with the ability to build effective relationships with a wide range of stakeholders. Strong organisational skills and the ability to manage multiple priorities effectively. Understanding of social media marketing principles and best practices. Experience using Microsoft Office applications, including Word, Excel, and PowerPoint. Experience communicating with diverse audiences and stakeholders. Desirable Criteria Experience managing social media accounts for a business or organization. Familiarity with social media management platforms such as Hootsuite or Sprinklr. Experience supporting content across platforms such as LinkedIn, X (Twitter), and Facebook. Experience working in an international organisation operating in English.
