Job Summary: The Solutions Engineer will be responsible for providing direct customer support, including but not limited to managing new product introduction, advanced system integration, legacy product support and technical problem solving in support of Sales. Additionally, the Position will fill the role of customer technical advocate to the Company’s engineering organization The successful candidate will have a record of success in customer-facing technical sales support, working directly with customers and sales teams to uncover technical challenges and develop effective solutions. This individual will apply existing products in innovative ways to solve customer problems while identifying gaps that may require product enhancements or new product development, serving as a key technical link between the customer, sales, product management, and engineering teams. Ideally this talent will reside in the Central or Western half of the country. You will make a difference in the following ways: Introduce, position, and drive adoption of Company fiber and RF connectivity solutions, partnering with Sales and customers to understand network strategies, technical requirements, deployment plans, and emerging needs. Serve as a trusted technical advisor to customers, evaluating solutions in field environments and addressing installation, application, performance, reliability, and deployment challenges. Lead technical support for product evaluations, demonstrations, field trials, and qualification activities, recommending solutions, addressing technical objections, and helping close the technical aspects of sales opportunities. Develop technically differentiated fiber and RF connectivity solutions using the existing product portfolio, demonstrating customer value and strengthening the Company's competitive position. Serve as the technical voice of the customer, translating field requirements, application challenges, and unmet needs into product enhancements and new product opportunities in collaboration with Product Management and Engineering. Provide application expertise across fiber and RF connectivity infrastructure, including cable, connectors, closures, enclosures, passive components, fiber management, and inside- and outside-plant applications, while building strong relationships across customer Engineering, Sales, Product Management, and Engineering teams. What you bring: A bachelor’s degree in computer, electrical, telecommunications engineering, or a related field, or equivalent relevant experience, with a minimum of 3 years of Solutions Engineering or closely related experience. Experience with fiber optic and RF connectivity solutions, including fiber cable, connectors, closures, enclosures, patch panels, coaxial cable, RF connectors, passives, and related inside- and outside-plant infrastructure. Experience designing, deploying, troubleshooting, or supporting fiber and RF connectivity solutions within broadband, telecommunications, or similar network environments is preferred. Demonstrated success working directly with customers and Sales teams to identify technical and field challenges, develop practical solutions, support sales opportunities, and translate unmet requirements into product enhancements or new product opportunities. Strong customer engagement and communication skills, with the ability to provide a remarkable client experience and effectively collaborate with stakeholders ranging from engineers through C-suite executives. Strong problem-solving and analytical skills, including the ability to evaluate information from multiple sources, identify underlying customer needs, assess impacts to deployed infrastructure, take ownership of issues, and drive them through resolution. Proficiency with RF and fiber connectivity test equipment and troubleshooting techniques, including signal level meters, spectrum and network analyzers, OTDRs, optical power meters, visual fault locators, and fiber inspection equipment. Ability and willingness to travel 50% to 75% to support customer engagements, field activities, sales opportunities, product evaluations, and industry events. Let’s Create Possibilities Together. Applicants can expect a base compensation range of $110,000 to $140,000 plus benefits and additional incentives based on the level of the role. This is the reasonable estimate that Belden believes it might pay for this job based on applicable circumstances at the time of posting. Belden may ultimately pay more or less than the posted range as permitted by law, and commensurate with the applicant’s experience, qualifications, and geographical location.
