How you will make an Impact (Job Summary) SPX is a diverse team of unique individuals who all make an impact. As a Technical Sales & Field Solutions Specialist for Neptronic, an SPX Technologies company, you will combine hands-on HVAC field service expertise with technical applications and business development to help customers select, commission, troubleshoot and optimize commercial and industrial HVAC solutions. You will support customers and channel partners from project discovery and quotation through successful installation and ongoing service, while identifying opportunities to grow the business. What you can expect in this role (Job Responsibilities) While each day brings new opportunities at SPX, your core responsibilities will be: 1. Field Service, Commissioning & Technical Support Travel to customer and project sites to start up, commission, inspect, troubleshoot, maintain and repair HVAC equipment and associated controls; provide remote support when appropriate. Diagnose electrical, mechanical, controls and application issues using wiring diagrams, sequences of operation and diagnostic instruments; implement safe and practical corrective actions. Perform site assessments, support complex applications, warranty evaluations, field investigations and root-cause analyses; document findings, measurements, photographs and corrective actions. Prepare accurate, timely service reports and communicate site status, risks and follow-up needs to customers and internal teams. Coordinate tools, replacement parts, site access and travel; maintain service equipment and follow all safety, PPE and lockout requirements. 2. Technical Sales, Applications & Customer Development Develop opportunities with manufacturers’ representatives, distributors, engineers, contractors, OEMs and end users by understanding application needs and commercial objectives. Review plans, specifications and project requirements; support product and equipment selections, quotations, proposals and technical submittals. Translate field conditions into practical recommendations and clearly explain the technical and commercial value of proposed solutions. Partner with regional sales managers and channel partners on complex opportunities, moving projects from discovery through quotation, order and successful implementation. Build lasting customer relationships that generate repeat business, referrals and early awareness of future projects. 3. Training, Collaboration & Continuous Improvement Conduct customer meetings, product demonstrations, job-site reviews, technical presentations, lunch-and-learns and training for contractors, partners and end users. Document customer activity, opportunities, quotations and service findings in appropriate company systems and provide dependable follow-through. Share field performance, customer needs and competitive insights with engineering, product, quality, marketing, applications and service colleagues to improve products and support. Represent Neptronic professionally at trade shows, industry events and customer functions, as required. What we are looking for (Experience, Knowledge, Skills, Abilities, Education) We each bring something to the table, and we are looking for someone who has: Required Experience At least three years of relevant experience in commercial or industrial HVAC field service, commissioning, applications, estimating, technical sales, or a combination of these areas. Practical knowledge of HVAC equipment, electrical and mechanical systems, controls, wiring diagrams, technical documents and common project delivery channels. Ability to troubleshoot equipment, interpret plans and specifications, develop clear technical recommendations and support quotations. Customer-focused communication, sound judgment, disciplined follow-up and the ability to work independently while coordinating with cross-functional teams. Preferred Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities Experience with humidification, electric heating, air-handling equipment, dehumidification, heat-transfer products and/or HVAC controls. Experience supporting representatives and contractors, conducting customer training, and developing relationships with consulting engineers, distributors or OEMs. A blend of field service and applications, estimating or consultative sales experience, including confidence presenting solutions and pursuing new business. Comfort using diagnostic tools, laptops, mobile devices, Microsoft 365, and CRM, quotation, service reporting or equipment-selection systems. Strong organizational, analytical and problem-solving skills; ability to communicate technical concepts to varied audiences. Education & Certifications Technical diploma, associate degree, bachelor’s degree, or recognized trade training in HVAC, refrigeration, electrical systems, electromechanics, mechanical engineering technology, building systems, business or a related discipline preferred; equivalent industry experience considered. EPA Section 608 certification, electrical license or other relevant trade credentials preferred. Travel & Working Environment Field-based position in the United States, preferably near Atlanta, Georgia or another major airport; regular to frequent travel to customer sites throughout the United States and occasional travel to Canada. Valid driver’s license and passport, with ability to meet applicable cross-border entry requirements. Ability to work safely at active customer sites, mechanical rooms, rooftops and construction sites; perform physical field-service activities including carrying tools, using ladders and working in varying indoor and outdoor conditions.
