Position Summary The Electrical Procurement Manager (U.S.) owns the full electrical procurement scope for Ormat's U.S. battery energy storage (BESS) and utility-scale solar projects. The role covers commercial strategy, sourcing, contracting, supplier delivery and escalation for BESS containers and enclosures, PV modules, inverters (PCS), trackers, transformers, switchgear, MV/HV electrical balance of plant, e-houses and control cabinets. Based in Philadelphia, the position is the single commercial owner of the U.S. electrical category. It works alongside the Israel-based electrical category team and reports to the Head of Global Procurement, partnering closely with Engineering, Project Management, Construction, Legal, Trade Compliance, Logistics and Finance. Beyond execution, the role is expected to move U.S. electrical buying from project-by-project purchasing to portfolio-based strategic sourcing — establishing master agreements, securing supplier capacity ahead of the project pipeline, and protecting projects against tariff, domestic content and lead-time exposure. Essential Functions Category ownership – BESS and Solar Own the U.S. electrical category strategy for BESS and solar: negotiation strategy, pricing and lead-time approvals, and final commercial escalation with suppliers. Lead sourcing of major equipment: BESS containers/enclosures and integrated systems, PV modules, inverters and PCS, trackers, MV/HV transformers, switchgear, cabling, e-houses and control cabinets. Build and maintain a qualified supplier base across the U.S., Asia and Europe, including new supplier identification, qualification and onboarding. Consolidate demand across the U.S. project pipeline and secure supplier capacity and pricing in advance of project award. Contracts and commercial Lead negotiation and execution of MSAs, framework agreements, supply agreements and equipment POs for BESS and PV packages, including correct PO split and signature flow. Work with Legal and Contract Management on terms and conditions, SOWs, liquidated damages, warranty and performance guarantees, indemnity, lien waivers and dispute mechanisms; flag high-risk commercial terms early. Benchmark supplier pricing against market and project budgets; deliver measurable cost savings and report against procurement KPIs. Trade compliance and domestic content Direct and develop U.S. electrical buyers; balance workload, ensure back-to-back coverage and that no open item is left unowned during absences. Serve as the final escalation point for the electrical category before the Head of Global Procurement. Ensure compliance with Ormat procurement procedures, approval matrices, segregation of duties and audit requirements; SAP is the single source of truth for supplier evaluation, approval and control. Other Responsibilities Travel to project sites and supplier factories in the U.S. and internationally (estimated 30–50%). Provide procurement input to budgets, pipeline schedules and executive reporting. Support continuous improvement of procurement templates, SOWs, evaluation criteria and standard work. Other duties and projects assigned by management. Education, Experience, and Skills Required Bachelor's degree in Supply Chain, , Business or a related field. Advanced degree or professional certification (CPSM, CIPS) Electrical Engineering an advantage. 8+ years of procurement experience, with at least 4 years buying electrical equipment for utility-scale renewable energy, EPC, utility or heavy industrial projects. Direct, hands-on experience purchasing BESS and/or solar PV equipment — modules, inverters, trackers, batteries, transformers, switchgear or MV/HV balance of plant. Proven ownership of high-value, long-lead equipment packages from RFQ through delivery and closeout. Demonstrated experience negotiating and administering complex supply agreements and MSAs. Working knowledge of U.S. trade and incentive requirements affecting renewable equipment — tariffs, domestic content and origin documentation. 2+ years leading or supervising buyers, or leading cross-functional sourcing teams. Strong negotiation and total-cost-of-ownership thinking; comfortable challenging suppliers and internal stakeholders. Advanced working knowledge of SAP (S/4HANA preferred) and ERP purchasing processes, with strong master data discipline. Ability to manage multiple projects and competing priorities in a fast-moving construction environment. Clear, concise written and verbal communication; able to brief executives on risk, cost and schedule in one page. Proficiency in Microsoft Excel, Word and PowerPoint for analysis and reporting. Physical Requirements The ability to work at a computer and use repetitive motion for long periods of time. The ability to occasionally lift up to 25 pounds. This position requires sitting, walking and periodic site visits in active construction and manufacturing environments.
