Overview The Agency of Transportation is seeking a Regional Administrative & Technical Assistant. This position will work in an office setting in the St. Johnsbury Office. At times, travel may be required to other offices and garages in Derby to assist with computer replacement, repair, and other related duties. This position is responsible for providing technical assistance, including program installation on computers, troubleshooting, and testing/fixing computer problems. The position may assist with upgrades of various applications and establishment of user environments, directories, and security. The position will also train new users and monitor data entered into the Maintenance Assets Tracking System (VTMATS), verifying information entered is accurate. Environmental Factors Duties are performed in a standard office setting. Some maintenance work on assigned equipment may be necessary. Frequent field trips to regional garages to provide training to new users may be anticipated. Considerable interaction with co-workers and computer support staff is anticipated. Some pressure from deadlines may occur. Minimum Qualifications Associate’s degree or higher in business, computer science, or related field. OR Three (3) or more years of administrative office experience. Preferred Qualifications Coursework, certification, or training in business or related field. Experience with computer or network support, including assisting in the assembly, installation, and/or configuration of hardware and software applications. Experience with customer support and/or training in use of computer systems. Experience with accounting, budget management, grant administration, finance, human resources, payroll, or purchasing.
