At TE, you will unleash your potential working with people from diverse backgrounds and industries to create a safer, sustainable and more connected world. ​ Job Overview The Senior Manager of Strategic Communications is responsible for leading internal and external communications for TE’s fast-growing Digital Data Networks (DDN) business unit which serves the AI, Cloud, Enterprise, Telecom, Edge and IoT markets. This role is responsible for defining the communications strategy including employee engagement, customer, investor and executive communications, crisis and change management messaging, media interactions and content development. As a strategic partner to the business unit general manager (GM) and leadership team, this role translates business priorities into clear and compelling narratives that connect employees to strategy, build trust and confidence, reinforce culture and enable the business to execute and scale in a high-growth fast-paced environment. The role also plays a critical part in shaping and protecting TE’s reputation with external stakeholders. The ideal candidate is an expert at communicating in written, oral and digital forms; is self-directed; and able to execute a high volume of projects that support a variety of global stakeholders. They will partner closely with and lead one direct report. They must excel at message development, storytelling and writing, with a style that captures both the leader’s voice and intent, as well as the audience’s attention. To be successful in this role, the individual will need to build strong relationships and collaborate with various stakeholders, including the BU executive leadership team, human resources partners, communications and investor relations (IR) colleagues across TE. This role will report to DDN’s Senior Director of Program Management (the GM’s Chief of Staff), with a functional dotted line to the Segment Director of Communications. Job Requirements Establish and maintain a messaging framework that aligns the business unit GM’s authentic voice, priorities and key narratives, creating a scalable foundation for communications and increasing organizational capacity. Build and execute robust, comprehensive strategic communications plans for internal and external audiences that are aligned with business strategies and company objectives. Lead the executive communications rhythm for the business unit's GM, strengthening leadership visibility, message consistency and employee engagement, while supporting strategic engagements with customers, media, investors and other stakeholders, in close partnership with relevant functional communications and IR teams. Provide strategic communications counsel to the broader leadership team to support transformation, strategic priorities and alignment across the business. Develop and lead communications for large-scale change initiatives such as mergers and acquisitions, company restructuring, and growth transformation. Support communications needs at key manufacturing sites, including establishing communications infrastructure for new and expanding locations across all regions.. Partner with site and business leaders to strengthen the frontline employee experience, support priority communications, and help anticipate and manage emerging issues. Lead the business’s crisis and risk communications in partnership with the segment and corporate teams. This includes protecting the business’s reputation through proactive storytelling and the development of timely responses. Manage a senior communications specialist to achieve communications objectives and support their career development. Establish and report on communications performance metrics to measure communications engagement and effectiveness. Serve as a “journalist” and “chief storyteller,” cultivating sources across geographies, functions and business lines to drive the creation of compelling content. What your background should look like Skills & Experience Bachelor’s degree or higher, preferably in communications, English, journalism, or public relations 8+ years of communications experience, including a demonstrated ability serving as a strategic partner and advisor to executive leadership and producing effective communication strategies Previous global communications experience is required, preferably with a B2B multinational business Excellent written and verbal communication skills, with the ability to understand and distill technical information, be concise, and capture interest Fluency in English is required Experience counseling and advising executive leadership and business partners Knowledgeable about current communications trends and practices Proven skill in using digital/social media to connect with stakeholders through compelling messages and stories Personal Competencies: Ability to work independently and proactively, multitask and perform under pressure Ability to manage highly confidential or sensitive communications Ability to keep pace with communications needs in fast-moving businesses Capability to effectively balance strategic advice and tactical execution Demonstrated leadership competencies such as teamwork, creative problem solving, flexibility and willingness to challenge the status quo Excellent interpersonal, organizational, leadership and project management skills Flexibility to develop strong relationships with multiple departments in a large, matrix organization Strong business acumen and ability to communicate the value of a highly technical portfolio in a complex, fast-paced, rapidly changing environment ABOUT TE CONNECTIVITY TE Connectivity plc (NYSE: TEL) is a global industrial technology leader creating a safer, sustainable, productive, and connected future. COMPENSATION • Competitive base salary commensurate with experience: $ 152,500 – 190,600 (subject to change dependent on physical location) • Posted salary ranges are made in good faith.
