Job Summary We are looking for a proactive and detail-oriented Senior Officer - Engineering Purchase & Stores to join our Maintenance team in Chakan, Pune . In this role, you will be responsible for engineering procurement, vendor management, inventory optimization, and stores operations while ensuring uninterrupted support to manufacturing and maintenance activities. You will work closely with cross-functional stakeholders to drive cost efficiency, inventory accuracy, compliance, and operational excellence. What you will do As a Senior Officer - Engineering Purchase & Stores, you will: Engineering Procurement & Sourcing Process purchase requisitions and technical orders for engineering items, consumables, spare parts, and capital equipment requirements. Collaborate with Engineering and Production teams to define technical specifications and material requirements. Coordinate supplier quotations and conduct techno-commercial evaluations in partnership with Supplier Management (SUM) and local stakeholders. Negotiate delivery schedules and commercial terms to optimize cost, quality, and service. Track open purchase orders and proactively expedite deliveries to support production and project timelines. Vendor Development & Management Identify localization opportunities and develop reliable supplier networks for engineering materials and services. Maintain and continuously improve the approved vendor database and performance feedback system. Support the establishment and renewal of Annual Rate Contracts (ARCs) for frequently used consumables and stocked materials. Build strong supplier relationships to improve service levels, quality, and operational efficiency. Stores & Inventory Management Maintain accurate SAP PM/MM master data and monitor inventory performance through Power BI reporting and analytics. Manage inventory levels to avoid stock shortages while minimizing excess inventory. Oversee Goods Receipt Notes (GRN), material issuance processes, and periodic physical inventory verification. Implement and maintain standard operating procedures for inventory categorization, storage, preservation, and scrap management. Drive inventory optimization initiatives through material classification and stock rationalization. Ensure proper shelf-life monitoring and storage conditions for critical, sensitive, and specialized materials. Support equipment lifecycle management by managing inventory obsolescence and material phase-outs. Benchmark best practices across Tetra Pak factories and industry peers to continuously improve inventory management processes. Generate and share inventory and cost-control reports to support operational and financial decision-making. Monitor monthly inventory consumption trends and highlight improvement opportunities. Coordinate annual stock counts, internal audits, and external audit requirements. Lead and coordinate day-to-day activities of stores support staff. Support material standardization and master data governance activities. Cross-Functional Collaboration & Compliance Coordinate with Import/Export teams on customs-related requirements and documentation. Work closely with Quality Assurance and Finance teams on material inspections, invoice processing, and vendor payments. Ensure procurement and stores processes comply with company policies, statutory regulations, and applicable quality standards. Participate in World Class Manufacturing (WCM) / TPM pillar activities and continuous improvement projects. Support budget forecasting, cash flow planning, and cost management initiatives related to engineering services and materials. We believe you have We believe you have: Bachelor's degree in Mechanical Engineering, Electrical Engineering, Industrial Engineering, Supply Chain Management, or a related discipline. 5-8 years of experience in engineering procurement, stores management, inventory control, or maintenance support within a manufacturing environment. Hands-on experience with SAP PM/MM modules and strong data analysis capabilities. Good understanding of spare parts management, inventory optimization, procurement processes, and supplier management. Knowledge of inventory control methodologies, material standardization, and warehouse best practices. Familiarity with TPM/WCM, preventive maintenance concepts, and manufacturing operations. Strong analytical, negotiation, and problem-solving skills. Proficiency in Microsoft Excel, Power BI, PowerPoint, and other Microsoft Office applications. Good communication and stakeholder management skills. Ability to work effectively across functions and manage multiple priorities in a dynamic environment.
