OVERVIEW Under the direction of the Maintenance Supervisor, the Electrical Technician maintains electrical equipment in the assigned area to ensure safe, reliable, and optimal operation . DETAILED ROLES & RESPONSIBILITIES Perform all electrical maintenance, troubleshooting, and installation work in accordance with applicable safety procedures and required protective practices Work on electrical controls and circuits rated at 110 V, 440 V, and 4,160 V. Repair instrumentation used in solids and liquids applications, as well as load-side and line-side electrical components rated up to 4,160 V. Install and calibrate process-control instrumentation integrated with PLC-based control systems Troubleshoot PLC-controlled automated machinery and conveyor systems Perform scheduled electrical preventive maintenance activities and document the work completed Plan, prioritize, and schedule electrical maintenance with input from supervision and operations Maintain and troubleshoot 460 V motors, motor controls, and variable-frequency drives Read blueprints, P&IDs, single-line diagrams, ladder logic, and wiring schematics, and update these documents to accurately reflect completed changes Effectively use electrical, electronic, and pneumatic test and calibration equipment Use RTD, mA, and thermocouple calibrators; digital and analog multimeters; and laptops for equipment communication and troubleshooting Maintain, troubleshoot and repair electrical controls and instruments throughout the refinery Maintain and install new electrical equipment and rigid conduit Repair and troubleshoot analog instrument loops JOB REQUIREMENTS: Ability to regularly work overtime, rotating shifts, holidays, and weekends Demonstrate personal accountability for individual safety and the safety of others Must possess strong analytical and troubleshooting skills Ability to perform tasks wearing required PPE such as protective clothing, safety glasses/goggles, steel-toed boots, etc. Ability to work as part of a team in a unionized environment Ability to go up and down ladders and work in hot, sticky environment EDUCATION REQUIREMENTS and/or WORK EXPERIENCES Journeyman Electrician Status or completion of a two-year electrician certification program required At least five years of experience in industrial electrical applications preferred PAY RATE: $53.67 per hour We are an equal opportunity employer.
