About this role

Polden Bower, is a 160 place special school and has the specialist resources needed to meet the needs of our students. state-of-the-art facilities for all the children and young people, this includes a warm water pool for physiotherapy; a sports hall; a sensory room; and fully accessible classrooms with the latest teaching technology.

Bower Learning Partnership is a Federation of 2 special schools; Polden Bower School in Bridgwater, Avalon School in Street. The partnership works closely with the Pupil Referral Units in Somerset as part of its leadership work. Being part of a partnership, provides opportunities for staff to gain wider professional learning opportunities.

We are looking for talented senior teaching assistants to join our growing team of staff. 32.5 Hours per week 39 weeks per year( Term time plus INSET days). Term time hours of work: Monday 08.45am- 4.45pm, Tuesday-Friday 08.45am-3.30pm. Grade 13 actual gross salary £20,193- £21,866 dependent on experience.

We are looking for someone who can:

Provide mentoring for new support staff Provide a professional role model for other staff To support the admin roles of the class teacher in terms ofo Keeping pupil files up to dateo Ensuring that resources are prepared and ready for learningo To be the first point of call in their absence To teach groups under the direction of the class teacher To teach the whole class, short term in the absence of the class teacher To plan and prepare lessons for groups you are teaching To deliver training to other staff within the federationIn return the school will offer the successful candidate:
