The RoleAs a Cleaner at Byron Wood Academy, you will play a key role in maintaining a clean, safe, and welcoming environment for pupils, staff, and visitors. Working as part of a supportive site team, you will ensure classrooms, corridors, offices, and shared areas are kept to a high standard of hygiene and presentation each day. The role involves a variety of tasks such as vacuuming, mopping, wiping surfaces, emptying bins, and reporting any issues around the building. Although much of the work is completed independently, you will be an important part of the wider school community, helping to create a positive atmosphere where children can thrive. We are looking for someone who is reliable, takes pride in their work, and enjoys contributing to the smooth running of a busy primary school.

Key ResponsibilitiesClean classrooms, offices, corridors, toilets, and communal spaces to a high standardUndertake general cleaning duties including vacuuming, mopping, wiping surfaces, dusting, emptying bins, and replenishing suppliesEnsure cleaning equipment is used safely and stored appropriatelyReport any cleaning, maintenance, or safety issues to the Site ManagerWork efficiently to complete daily cleaning schedules within allocated timeframesFollow all school policies, including health and safety and safeguarding proceduresSupport the wider site team when required to ensure the smooth running of school operationsWhat We’re Looking ForA dependable and hardworking individual with a strong attention to detailPrevious cleaning experience in a school or similar environment (desirable, not essential)Ability to work independently and take pride in maintaining high standardsGood communication skills and a positive attitudeAwareness of COSHH and safe use of cleaning materials (training can be provided)Commitment to maintaining a clean, safe, and welcoming school environmentInterested in Applying?
