An Exciting Opportunity to Lead Two Thriving Community Schools
Are you an inspirational leader with a passion for excellence, inclusion, and community? We are seeking an exceptional Head of School to join our vibrant and successful schools within the communities of Stonehouse and Devonport.
Our schools are truly special places. Visitors to both schools consistently comment on the warmth, love, and strong relationships that underpin everything we do. We are proud of our welcoming culture, where children, staff, and families work together to create a caring and ambitious learning community.
Both schools are rated Good by Ofsted, we have high aspirations for every child and an unwavering commitment to ensuring that all pupils achieve their very best. Our curriculum (which is delivered across both school sites) is highly ambitious, carefully designed to inspire curiosity, develop knowledge, and prepare children for future success. We hold the highest expectations for behaviour, achievement, and personal development, ensuring that every pupil thrives both academically and socially.
About the schools:
Marlborough:
With just 110 pupils on roll, our school offers something truly special: a close-knit community where every child is known, valued, and supported to flourish. Our five mixed-age classes create a family atmosphere where children develop strong relationships across year groups, and staff work collaboratively to ensure every pupil receives the very best education.
At the centre of our provision is a strong commitment to inclusion. Our school is home to a dedicated SEND Resource Base, and we are proud of the way our mainstream and specialist provision work together to create a genuinely inclusive environment. We believe that every child deserves the opportunity to achieve, belong, and thrive.
The school was judged Good by Ofsted in November 2023, with inspectors recognising the quality of education, behaviour and attitudes, personal development, leadership and management, and early years provision as all being good. This inspection reflected the significant improvements made by the school and its commitment to providing high-quality learning experiences for all pupils
High Street:
High Street Primary Academy is a thriving and ambitious primary school located in the historic Stonehouse area of Plymouth. Serving between 200 - 240 pupils aged 2 to 11, the school is known for its strong family atmosphere, where pupils feel safe, valued, and cared for, and where positive relationships are at the heart of the school community.
The school was judged Good by Ofsted in July 2023, with inspectors highlighting the strong sense of community, the positive relationships between staff and pupils, and pupils' pride in their school. Ofsted reported that children behave well, feel safe, and demonstrate positive attitudes towards learning
Serving a wonderfully diverse community, we celebrate individuality and promote a culture of belonging, respect, and opportunity for all. We are looking for a leader who shares our belief that every child can succeed and who can continue to build on our strong foundations.
We Are Looking For Someone Who:
Has a proven track record of successful leadership. Is passionate about raising standards and improving outcomes for all children. Can inspire, motivate, and develop staff to achieve excellence. Values positive relationships and community engagement. Has a deep commitment to inclusion, equity, and safeguarding. Is driven by high expectations and a relentless focus on pupil achievement. We Offer:
Enthusiastic, caring, and motivated children. A dedicated and talented staff team. Strong support from families, governors, and the wider community. Opportunities for professional growth and leadership development. The chance to make a lasting difference in a school with a strong sense of purpose and belonging. If you are a compassionate and ambitious leader who is ready to build on our success and help shape the next chapter of our school's journey, we would love to hear from you.
