Job summary

Join our team at the new Short Stay Service.

We are looking for confident and enthusiastic support workers who can support individuals within our short stay (respite) provision. This role is ideal for people who enjoy leading activities, promoting independence, and creating positive, engaging experiences for the people they support.

The position is offering £15.00 per hour and £9 per hour for sleeping nights

The role will be a mixture of day and night shifts (sleeping & waking), with part-time positions available.

The successful applicant will be providing support to individuals with the following needs:

Learning disabilities

Autism

Additional support needs

Main duties of the job

The role will involve supporting individuals to take part in meaningful activities, both within the service and in the community, ensuring each person has a safe, enjoyable and fulfilling respite experience.

Previous experience working with individuals with learning disabilities and autism is advantageous, however this is not essential as training will be provided.

The successful applicant must:

Be confident in leading and supporting activities.

Have experience within the care sector (preferred).

Be flexible and person-centred in their approach to support.

Be willing to complete all required training to support individuals effectively

Have a positive attitude and the ability to work both independently and as part of a team.

About the Role

As a Care Support Assistant, you will receive full training to help you thrive in your role and gain confidence in providing quality care. After training is completed, you will receive a competitive rate of pay of £15.00 per hour for day shifts.

The role will be a full time (36 hours) with mixture of day and night shifts (sleeping & waking).

Your Responsibilities as a Care Support Assistant

Supporting individuals to take part in meaningful activities, both within the service and in the community Assisting clients in their daily routines, encouraging independence wherever possible Providing companionship and emotional support Administering medication when required

What We’re Looking For

To be successful as a Care Support Assistant, you’ll need:

A caring and empathetic nature Be confident in leading and supporting activities. Be enthusiastic, reliable and motivated.

Have a positive attitude and the ability to work both independently and as part of a team.

Good communication skills Be flexible and person-centred in their approach to support. A full UK driving licence is advantageous Previous experience is helpful but not essential – full training provided
