Job summary
The Clinical Lead Practitioner will provide senior clinical leadership and professional expertise within the CAMHS multidisciplinary team. The postholder will lead and support high-quality assessment, care planning and intervention for children and young people with complex mental health needs, while carrying a small, complex caseload.
You will provide structured clinical supervision, support colleagues with complex cases, lead on risk assessment and safeguarding, and maintain a small clinical caseload. You will work collaboratively with the Operational Team Manager, multidisciplinary colleagues and partner agencies to improve clinical pathways, promote timely transitions and discharge, and develop evidence-based practice across the service.

Main Duties and Responsibilities
Managerial provide case management supervision to the staff team, promoting stepping down services to care support and the timely discharge
To be an effective decision-making and clinical resource to support the Team manager in the selections and recruitment of staff, and to develop and promote strategies aimed at staff retention
To support the Team manager to complete appraisals and MYC for relevant allocated staff within the team.
To support the team in developing and building effective communication with all other services.
To take appropriate action with regard to complaints and reportable incidents within the service as directed by the Team Manager.
To contribute to the implementation of local and national objectives.
Clinical Responsibilities
To provide guidance and support to clinical staff in the management of complex cases.
To provide guidance and support on relevant legislation.
To be responsible for the development and maintenance of effective clinical pathways between CAMHS and other services.
To provide additional leadership and guidance to other team members in risk assessment, risk management and positive problem solving and lead on debriefs following incidents.
Develop confidence and competence within the team for managing complex clinical cases and issues.
To take a lead role in the provision of clinical leadership and structured clinical supervision to the team.
To lead on and ensure that the team undertakes appropriate and in-depth assessments and on-going intervention, and undertake the duties and responsibilities of an active lead case manager role.
To ensure the provision of the highest possible standard of care within the CAMHS and ensure the team follow these principles. Ensure patients within the team have an up to date integrated care record, reflective of their risk and care needs in line with policy and procedures.
To participate and lead in mental health education and provide advice/support as necessary to patients and their carers on the maintenance of good health and prevention of relapse and ensure the team also follow these principles
To receive formal managerial supervision from the Team Manager and clinical supervision from a suitable expert.
To initiate, develop and implement evidence based clinical practice.
To lead on Safeguarding issues within the service
To participate on policy implementation around infection control.
To participate on carer and service user involvement, working closely with other trust leads in rolling out carer/service user support forums.
Person Specification
Education / Qualifications Essential
Registered professional Nursing/Social Work/Occupational Therapist. Evidence of post registration additional training and/or experience to Master's Level Degree or Diploma in a professional qualification

Significant experience of leadership and proven track record of managing groups of staff and/or teams Successful management and control of substantial and complex resources Evidence of improving service quality Successful track record of prompting, leading and implementing change programmes that drive up standards and service performance History of holding responsibility and accountability for clinical decisions and empowering clinicians to make difficult clinical decisions Evidence of high levels of competence with written documentation Evidence of achieving high standards regarding CPA documentation Evidence of building and maintaining effective relationships
