Job summary
The candidate will be involved in the day-to-day running of the research portfolio Lung Unit, based at the Sutton, Surrey branch and contributing to the routine service delivered at Sutton, Surrey and as required for the Sutton, Surrey or Kingston Unit. There may be requirement for occasional visits to the Sutton, London and Kingston sites with flexibility in this arrangement. The postholder will have flexibility to account for leave requirements of other members of the team at Surrey.
Main duties of the job
This postholder's duties will involve prepping and attending outpatient clinics (face to face and virtual), ward rounds, MDTs and Research Meetings, whilst taking an integral part in our clinical research programme, including day-to-day management of multi-centre Phase I/II/III studies, writing and designing study protocols, ethics submissions, coordinating clinical trials and pharmacovigilance, data analysis and submission of manuscripts for publication when required.

Qualifications Essential
Eligible for full GMC registration with license to practice Membership of the Royal Colleges of Physicians (MRCP) or equivalent National training number (NTN) in relevant specialty, or equivalent, if currently a trainee
Desirable
Within 1 year of certification of completion of oncology training
Experience Essential
Management of lung cancer patients including targeted therapies, chemotherapy and immunotherapy 3 years' training experience at specialist registrar or resident or equivalent level Inpatient oncology management expertise at resident/registrar or equivalent level Clinical research experience as sub-investigator in clinical trials Ability and willingness to work within a multi-disciplinary team Previous experience of clinical trials and management of patients on clinical trials
Desirable
Undergraduate and postgraduate teaching Interpretation of cancer genomics reports
Personal Qualities Essential
Commitment to participate actively in clinical research and collaborate in translational research Experience in breaking bad news to patients Ability to work independently
