Job summary
We are looking for a Salaried GP to join our existing team of 3 GP partners, 3 practice nurses, 2 HCAs, 1 Health Board Pharmacist, 1 Practice Pharmacist, 1 pharmacy technician and a fantastic team of admin staff.
We are a training practice for GP registrars, medical students, pharmacy students, nursing students and regularly have work experience students.
The successful candidate would be flexible, reliable, punctual and trustworthy. Our list size is 6700, and we work from single premises, also providing a service to 2.5 care homes. We have access to in-house counselling support for patients and first contact physiotherapy. We are an EMIS Practice.
Our practice provides a wide range of Enhanced Services such as Care Homes, Learning Disability, Multiple sclerosis, Warfarin, DOAC, CDAT and provide joint injections and LARCs. We are conveniently located just over 15mins from the Royal Glamorgan Hospital.
Salary -£11,000- £11,500 per session annually, depending on experience
4 sessions per week.
We offer 6 weeks annual leave per year and 1 week study leave pro rata.

Main duties of the job
The post holder will undertake a variety of duties including surgery, telephone and electronic consultations and queries, visiting patients homes, checking and signing repeat prescriptions and dealing with queries, paperwork and correspondence in a timely fashion. Making professional, autonomous decisions in relation to presenting problems, whether self-referred or referred from other health care workers Assessing the health care needs of patients with undifferentiated and undiagnosed problems. Screening patients for disease risk factors and early signs of illness. Develop care plans for health management. Make appropriate and timely referral of patients for further opinion and treatment Prescribing in accordance with Practice policy. Compiling and issuing computer-generated acute and repeat prescriptions. Appropriate medicine prescribing for both acute and repeat requirement in accordance with the practice prescribing formulary and guidelines whenever this is clinically appropriate. Timely assessment of incoming electronic and paper correspondence relating to both patient and non patient information as required. Using the appropriate electronic systems.

Person Specification
Qualifications Essential
Registered with the General Medical Council and be on the Performers list. Fully trained and accredited GP
Desirable
Be well motivated. Work well as a member of team. Take a consultative approach to their work, appropriately involving relevant people. Have a willingness to be involved in QOF and Enhanced Services work. Ability to work under pressure. A good understanding of GMS contract requirements and operation of QOF and Enhanced Services. Good time management skills, punctuality
