We are looking for enthusiastic, motivated Speech and Language Therapists to join our friendly and supportive Acute Adult & Paediatric Speech and Language Therapy Service. We have permanent full-time opportunities available within either our specialist Stroke Team or our Specialist Medicine Teams.
These are substantive posts rather than rotational positions, offering the opportunity to develop expertise within your chosen clinical area while benefiting from the support, professional development opportunities and clinical supervision available within a large and experienced acute SLT department.

There are strong links with the wider MDT. There will be opportunities to develop leadership skills through projects and delivering training. There might be a requirement to work at the weekend or bank holidays as part of a rota.
We are able to offer these posts as band 5 to 6 progression posts (subject to Annexe 21 guidance) dependent on prior experience. The progression posts will be up to 12 months, working through a competency framework. Training, support, and supervision would be provided.
Main duties of the job
As a Band 6 Speech and Language Therapist, you will be part of a dynamic multidisciplinary team providing assessment, diagnosis and management of adults with communication and swallowing difficulties within an acute hospital setting.

Training & Qualifications Essential

Experience Essential
Significant post qualification experience in at least one relevant clinical area, working with adults or children with dysphagia and communication difficulties Well established knowledge of assessment tools for specialist group Established knowledge of a range of appropriate therapeutic interventions relevant to the client group. Experience of working in a multi-disciplinary team Demonstrates effective ability to prioritise a large caseload Evidence of post-graduate dysphagia training Evidence of completing RCSLT newly qualified competencies Experience of goal setting NHS experience in an acute hospital
