Operational Lead - Community Diabetes
Fixed Term / Secondment Opportunity (12 Months - Maternity Cover)
Are you an experienced operational leader looking for an exciting opportunity to make a real difference to Diabetes Services across Staffordshire and Stoke-on-Trent?
We are seeking a dynamic, motivated and forward-thinking individual to join our Community Diabetes Service.
This is an exciting opportunity to join a high-performing, innovative service dedicated to improving outcomes for people living with Diabetes. The successful candidate will play a pivotal role in supporting the operational delivery, transformation and ongoing development of Community Diabetes Services, working closely with clinical, professional and operational leaders across the Care Group.
We are looking for someone who:
Has experience in an operational leadership and/or project management role within healthcare. Has experience of leading service development, redesign or transformation programmes. Demonstrates excellent leadership, communication and organisational skills. Can work collaboratively across multidisciplinary teams and organisational boundaries. Has experience of managing staff and resources to achieve service objectives. Can analyse complex information, identify solutions and drive improvement. Is passionate about delivering high-quality, patient-centred care. Is able to motivate, support and develop teams within a demanding healthcare environment.
Main duties of the job
As Operational Lead, you will provide operational management and leadership for the Countywide Community Diabetes Service, ensuring the delivery of safe, effective and high-quality services that meet local and national priorities.
Working alongside Clinical Leads, Professional Leads and senior operational colleagues, you will contribute to service development, quality improvement, workforce planning and performance management, supporting the continued transformation of services in line with the NHS Long Term Plan and Trust objectives.
Key responsibilities include:
Providing day-to-day operational leadership and management across Community Diabetes Services. Leading and supporting service improvement and transformation initiatives. Managing performance against key service objectives, quality indicators and commissioned targets. Supporting workforce planning, recruitment, staff development and succession planning. Ensuring quality, governance and risk management processes are embedded across services. Working collaboratively with internal and external partners, including Primary Care Networks, acute providers and community services. Supporting the development of innovative and patient-centred care pathways. Analysing service data and performance information to inform service planning and future priorities.

Qualifications & Training Essential
Post-graduate qualification or equivalent experience in relevant clinical, professional or managerial role Evidence of ongoing continued professional development
Desirable
Postgraduate qualification in management and/or leadership Leadership or other organisational development training
Experience Essential
Experience in operational and/or project management role in the NHS Experience of leading service developments Experience of services/projects and/or delivering clinical services Experience of delivering service changes and developments
