The Ridings Medical Group is seeking to recruit a highly motivated and enthusiastic Healthcare Assistant (HCA) to join our well established and supportive team. Our team work collaboratively to deliver high-quality patient care across our five practices.
This position is 29 hours per week, worked across all The Ridings Medical Group sites. This post will be suited to an experienced HCA, preferably with an NVQ Level 3 in Health and Social Care or equivalent qualification, although training would be provided to suitable candidates. Training courses include an expectation of personal study and commitment to completing lengthy study modules.
The ideal candidate will enjoy working with people and have a friendly, polite and approachable manner. You will be able to manage multiple tasks, work effectively as part of a team and always uphold the highest standards of patient care and confidentiality. Excellent communication skills, flexibility and a patient focused approach are essential for this role. You will be an excellent communicator with strong interpersonal and customer service skills, with the ability to remain calm and professional.
Above all you will demonstrate a caring, compassionate and empathetic approach to patient care, which we consider essential for this role. Main duties of the job
Working closely with our clinicians, you will support the delivery of high-quality patient care by carrying out a range of clinical duties, including height and weight measurements, urinalysis, blood pressure checks, peak flow measurements, ECG recordings, venepuncture and administering Flu and Pneumonia vaccinations and B12 injections where appropriately trained, competent and operating under Patient Specific Directions. This post will be suited to an experienced HCA, preferably with an NVQ Level 3 (or equivalent) in Health and Social Care, although training would be available to suitable candidates. Training courses include an expectation of personal study and commitment to completing lengthy study modules.
The hours will be 29 per week, across Monday to Friday, and there is a set working pattern between 08:00-20:00. Evening and weekend cover may be expected in addition to the 29hours, including up to 20:00 on either a Monday, Tuesday or Wednesday and Saturday morning is 09:00 13:00 (though this would be for cover only and not part of the rota).The exact working pattern will be agreed with the successful candidate, offering a degree of flexibility where possible.
