About this role

Job summary

Ashford and St Peter's is a large acute Trust in West Surrey and one of the largest in the region. Ashford Hospital lies close to Heathrow Airport. St Peter's Hospital is situated between Chertsey and Woking. The two hospitals serve a diverse population of around 450,000 on the borders of Surrey and Middlesex. This area includes Woking, Chertsey, Walton-on-Thames, Weybridge, Ashford, Staines, Feltham and Spelthorne.

Oral Surgery clinics take place every day at both Ashford Hospital and St Peter's Hospital. Day case surgery takes place in a dedicated theatre at Ashford Hospital. Paediatric lists are undertaken at St Peter's Hospital where we have a dedicated paediatric ward

Main duties of the job

This is a Specialty Doctor post with a weekly commitment of 10 PAs.

The postholder will

Play an active part in the management of patients under the care of the department in both emergency and elective cases. Develop and maintain a high standard of practice

Take an active role in all activities of the department.

Job description Job responsibilities

The post holder will support the junior trainees and liaise closely with the nursing staff and consultants.

The job plan will include oral surgery treatment clinics with exposure to a wide range of complex cases.

The role will include clerking patients in a theatre setting.
