About this role

Job summary

Are you an experienced Occupational Therapist looking to develop your clinical skills within a supportive community mental health team? Are you passionate about using your assessment, problem-solving and communication skills to deliver person-centred interventions that support recovery and promote independence for individuals with complex mental health needs?

We have an 12 month fixed term/secondment opportunity. Band 6 Specialist Occupational Therapy post that is integral to our multi disciplinary team at the Older Adult Community hub, Knowsley.

You will be contributing to the high quality assessment and treatment for people living with dementia , facilitating interventions and aiding diagnosistic processes.

Informal visits and/or phone contact to gain further information from the team manager/OT are very much welcomed.

Main duties of the job

To deliver specialist Occupational Therapy assessment and treatment interventions for an identified group of people/caseload.

To support core duties of the Older Adult Community hub, Knowsley.The post holder will contribute to effective MDT working supporting people in the community living with dementia.

The post holder will complete assessments which support us in keeping people living at home for longer.

The post holder will support the running of group interventions.

Person Specification

Qualifications Essential

Relevant professional OT qualification Current HPC registration

Desirable

Fieldwork Educators certificate. Post graduate accredited study e.g. PSI, CBT, MSc in relevant health studies.

Experience Essential

Previous experience in relevant health settings Experience of Dementia specific assessment tools

Desirable

Post graduate clinical experience, within mental health services

Knowledge Essential

Effective team working within a multi-agency framework Demonstrate experience of problem-solving approaches Mental Health Act 1983 Mental Capacity Act Demonstrate knowlegde of Safeguarding Adults

Wider range of statutory and non-statutory services. Risk management training
