Tetbury Hospital is rated good by the Care Quality Commission and comprises of a well-equipped theatre and purpose-built procedure room, outpatient department, minor injuries and illness unit and X-ray department. Main duties of the job
Prepare the operating theatre and equipment before surgery.
Assist the surgical team during procedures as scrub, circulator, recovery or anaesthetic assistant.
Monitor patients vital signs and condition throughout the perioperative period.
Maintain accurate and timely documentation of care provided.
Adhere to infection control and health & safety protocols.
Provide emotional support and reassurance to patients and their families.
Participate in audits, training, and continuous professional development
Contribute to a culture of teamwork, respect, and clinical excellence.

Job description Job responsibilities
We are seeking a dedicated and compassionate Theatre Practitioner to join our skilled theatre team at Tetbury Hospital. The successful candidate will play a vital role in delivering high-quality perioperative care to patients undergoing surgical procedures. You will work closely with surgeons, anaesthetists, and other healthcare professionals to ensure safe, efficient and patient-centred care. Provide flexible, as-needed support based on theatre scheduling and service demands.
Person Specification
Experience Essential
Good level of clinical skills within one or more of the perioperative disciplines Able to provide assistance to all disciplines, including anaesthetist,surgeon prior to, during and following surgical procedures Ability to plan and prioritise own workload Evidence of ability to work collaboratively in a multi disciplinary team Knowledge of current practice, research and development within theatre areas Work within the latest Code of Professional Conduct
Communication Skills Essential
Ability to work as part of a team and in collaboration with others using Adaptable to change Working as a team member to provide support and cover for periods of annual leave and sicknesseffective verbal, written and interpersonal skills
Qualifications Essential
First level Registered Nurse / HCPC registered ODP
